  • Lead the bar team in delivering a warm, welcoming first impression for every guest, ensuring consistently friendly, professional, and engaging service across all beverage venues.
  • Regularly circulate through all beverage areas (including lounges, dining rooms, Horizon Court, Bellbox, crew bar/wardroom, and open decks) to monitor service delivery, resolve guest issues, and provide on-the-spot support to the team.
  • Coach and mentor bar staff to proactively engage with guests, anticipate preferences and needs, and personalize service to enhance the overall onboard experience.
  • Oversee the setup, appearance, cleanliness, and ambiance of all beverage outlets, ensuring brand standards, public health, and safety requirements are consistently met.
  • Plan and manage staffing levels, scheduling, and station assignments to ensure efficient coverage and seamless beverage service across all operating hours and locations.
  • Monitor daily beverage revenues and key performance indicators, analyzing results by outlet and sub-category to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Set and communicate achievable daily and voyage bar revenue targets in line with guidance from shoreside operations and the Food & Beverage Director, and drive the team to meet or exceed them.
  • Collaborate closely with the Food & Beverage Director and shoreside partners on pricing, promotions, product mix, and revenue strategies to maximize yield while protecting the guest experience.
  • Review work procedures and operational practices regularly, recommending and implementing improvements to increase revenue, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
  • Ensure accurate beverage accounting, stock control, and inventory management across all outlets, promptly investigating and addressing variances or discrepancies.
  • Observe individual and team performance against role expectations, providing timely feedback, recognition, and corrective coaching to support continuous improvement and career development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and safety-focused team culture, promoting open communication, collaboration with other hotel departments, and adherence to company policies and standards.
  • Graduate of a recognized hotel, hospitality, or catering school, or equivalent professional experience in Food & Beverage management.
  • Extensive experience (typically 3-5 years) in a leadership role within a high-volume bar or beverage operation, ideally in a cruise, resort, or upscale hotel environment.
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of beverage operations, including product range, mixology basics, wine and spirits, inventory control, and cost management.
  • Proven track record of driving beverage revenue, managing budgets, and analyzing sales and performance data to inform decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and motivate a diverse, multicultural team, with a hands-on, visible leadership style.
  • Excellent guest service mindset, with the ability to anticipate needs, handle complex or sensitive guest issues, and turn feedback into service improvements.
  • Well-developed organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple venues, priorities, and operational demands simultaneously.
  • Good understanding of public health, sanitation, and safety standards related to beverage operations, including responsible service of alcohol.
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills and a warm, professional, and approachable manner.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, shipboard environment with long operating hours, changing itineraries, and evolving guest expectations.
