  • Job Summary:
    In this contingent Software Engineering assignment, the mainframe developer will participate in and consult on moderately complex software engineering initiatives. The role includes evaluating technical challenges, contributing to large-scale planning, and resolving issues requiring in-depth analysis of variable factors. The engineer will collaborate with client personnel and deliver solutions that adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements. Candidates must have 4+ years of Software Engineering experience and strong mainframe technical expertise across COBOL, JCL, DB2, CA7, NDM, VSAM, CICS, and related IBM mainframe utilities.     Design, develop, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
    Execute batch scheduling and job orchestration using CA7.
    Utilize NDM, VSAM, IBM Utilities, SDSF, SPUFI, and RACF for mainframe workflows and support.
    Analyze moderately complex engineering challenges and contribute to resolution strategies.
    Collaborate with client personnel in Software Engineering to support deliverables.
    Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and leverage AI tooling (CoPilot or others) to improve SDLC efficiency.
    Support compliance adherence, documentation, and quality assurance activities.
    Evaluate and troubleshoot mainframe jobs, batch failures, and system-level issues.
