We have an exciting opening for a Machinist C in Eugene, OR.  

Your responsibilities 

  • With limited supervision, perform intermediate level machining of parts and tools, typically on more than one machine.
  • Sets up and operates all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations on work with tight tolerances.
  • Sets up and lay out own work from blueprints, sketches and written specifications according to requirements.
  • Understands qualities of metals and alloys and applies that knowledge to parts being machined. 
  • Will interpret and comprehends all forms of technical documents including: blueprints and drawings, written specifications, charts, tables, etc.
  • use a variety of machinist hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Fit and assembles components as necessary.
  • Produce high-quality work with low rework and scrap history.
    Maintains high efficiencies and run rates for given machine.

Who we are looking for

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • Minimum of 2 years related experience, training, licenses/certification or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.
  • Moderate physical effort consisting of standing, twisting, bending and frequent lifting, moving or turning average weight material is required. 
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.  
  • Possess strong math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, including decimals and fractions.  May also be required to effectively use personal computers, data management systems and software.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • Regularly stand, walk, sit and use hands to grasp and handle. 
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 40 lbs. 
  • Regularly bend, stoop, and stretch handling parts/objects in various situations. 
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, ability to focus, and depth perception. 
  • This position may be exposed to oils, dirt, fumes and moving equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
