Pay Rate: $23.16 per hour
Shift: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM (Weekend availability required) Shift: Mondays, Tuesday, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays Off Wednesday and Thursday

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Floor Care Technician to perform specialized cleaning and maintenance tasks using advanced equipment. This role is critical to maintaining a safe, clean, and professional environment throughout the airport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Follow all agency policies, contract specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Wear proper PPE and comply with fit-testing requirements.
  • Prepare work areas by removing obstacles and setting up equipment and signage.
  • Operate floor care equipment safely and according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks before and after equipment use.
  • Mix and measure chemicals safely for cleaning tasks.
  • Use Clorox 360 sprayers and other disinfecting equipment responsibly.
  • Complete final inspections and report any issues promptly.
  • Remove trash and maintain cleanliness in designated areas.
  • Comply with BWI security procedures for unescorted access privileges (SIDA).
Specialized Functions

Floor Maintenance

  • Sweep, mop, strip, seal, wax, burnish, and buff floors.
  • Operate rotary floor machines (low/high speed), ride-on machines, scrubbers, buffers, extractors, wet vacs, and pressure washers.

Lift Operator Duties

  • Perform high-level cleaning in areas such as ticket kiosks, signage, vents, beams, and security checkpoints.
  • Clean surfaces from ceiling to floor, including walls, ledges, and moldings.

Glass & Brightwork

  • Clean and polish glass panes, partitions, mirrors, and metal surfaces.
  • Dry surfaces using cloth, squeegee, or chamois.
Secondary Duties
  • Assist with inventory and equipment maintenance.
  • Perform general custodial tasks as needed.
  • Keep records and submit reports.
  • Support special projects and emergency cleaning.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly (up to 100 lbs with assistance).
  • Comfortable working in various environments, including heights and dusty conditions.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Floor Technician training and knowledge of finishes, applications, and removals preferred.
  • Six months of floor care experience and custodial work preferred.
  • Must pass security clearance for BWI Airport.
