Job description

Tecnova Electronics is seeking a Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented purchasing professional who enjoys problem-solving, supplier interaction, and working cross-functionally in a manufacturing environment.


In this role, you will be responsible for managing procurement activities for assigned programs, ensuring materials are purchased cost-effectively and delivered on time to support production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate and manage purchase orders and blanket purchase orders for assigned programs
  • Maintain purchase orders, including schedule changes and rescheduling
  • Work with Manufacturing, Suppliers and Engineering to coordinate & complete ECO implementation, phase in and out activities and multiple design changes while minimizing scrap and obsolescence
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and service agreements with suppliers
  • Analyze supplier quotations and make sourcing recommendations
  • Perform cost analysis and support cost-saving initiatives
  • Monitor supplier delivery performance and take corrective action to ensure that delivery goals are achieved
  • Collaborate with Receiving to resolve material discrepancies and delivery issues
  • Partner with the Master Scheduler and suppliers to develop recovery plans when needed
  • Track and support departmental KPIs and performance metrics
  • Maintain compliance with company quality standards and procedures
  • Provide project updates, reporting, and support for special initiatives


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of purchasing or buyer experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Effective communication and vendor relationship management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a electronics manufacturing environment
  • Experience with logistics and purchasing overseas
  • APICS or ISM certification
