Job description

Job Title: EXPEDITOR/BUYER

Primary Job Functions:

  • Act as a liaison between various departments and company suppliers, directing shipments to the correct location and arranging for timed deliveries.
  • Oversee and facilitate the smooth flow of work and materials within or among departments according to production or shipping schedules.
  • Expedite assigned purchase orders to ensure all requirements specified in the purchase order are accomplished.
  • Assist Accounts Payable in resolving invoice issues with suppliers.
  • Manage returns to suppliers due to quality issues and coordinate replacements.
  • Perform essential functions required by the job.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Source vendors of material, equipment or supplies, determine product availability, lead times, pricing and payment terms
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for material, equipment and supplies
  • Review purchase order claims for conformance to company policy
  • Ensure on-time delivery from all suppliers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proven experience as an Expeditor or similar role
  • Familiarity with purchasing components, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Experience in a production environment is a plus
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with inventory software
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Hours: Mon-Fri 7:00 a.m. โ€“ 4:00 p.m. Week: 40+ Hours Lunch: 1 hour
