Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
An Assistant Buyer provides operational support and assists the buying team with the selection and procurement of merchandise for the direct-to-consumer businesses, to support overall company sales, volume, gross margin, and turnover objectives.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the assortment buying for alice + olivia brand products on FarFetch
• Oversee all aspects of the FarFetch business; order entry, product maintenance, inventory loads, product turn-ins and markdown management, to ensure sales targets are met
• Manage the 3rd party and alice + olivia owned accessories and lifestyle buying for retail stores and ecommerce
• Collaborate with the VP of buying to source and buy vintage accessories; build a strong relationship with our exclusive vintage apparel partner and curate a monthly drop for select stores
• Manage the style creation for all vintage products in our POS system, tag and ship merchandise to select stores
• Ensure all stores accept 3rd party merchandise correctly and receiving reports match invoices before submitting to finance for approval
• Support VP of Buying and Director of Buying with all order entry 
• Track departmental receipt flows for all areas of responsibility 
• Analyze sales trends to identify best sellers and manage re-orders to achieve sales goals
• Create and distribute weekly selling reports and make business recommendations to management
• Participate in OTB discussions to develop understanding of key financial concepts and components
• Ensure all markdowns and store promotions are entered and set up properly in system; communicate to stores
• Complete assigned tasks thoroughly, accurately and on a timely basis.
• Work cooperatively with others. Display a positive attitude and a willingness to assist all members of the buying team

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's Degree in related field
• 1-2 years of buying experience required
• Strong Excel skills
• Strong business analytical skills with knowledge of retail math and retail systems
 •Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
 • Aptitude to function within deadlines, while working both independently and as part of a team

$60,000 - $70,000 base salary (This range represents the anticipated base salary for this NYC-based position and will vary based on experience, qualifications, skills, and internal equity. This is a non-exempt position and may require overtime, which will be compensated in accordance with applicable law.)
