Job description

About This Role

Busy Bee Preschool in Firestone is looking for Teacher assistant (0-3) with superior classroom management, and great communication skills.

Our classroom teachers will ensure that a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children is maintained while adhering to the daycare’s standards and state regulations.

We are looking for someone that can work well with a team. Must have experience working with children (ages 0-3) in a classroom setting. This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

We are looking for a person who takes the initiative, who is energetic, and can think outside the box. We strive to find a balance of academic and play based philosophies in our classrooms and we are looking for the same in our employees.

We offer smaller student to teacher ratios in all of our classes. We are privately owned, not a corporate center.

If you are looking for a change and a place that values their staff, we would love to meet with you.

We are unable to offer childcare for any staff at this time as we are on a waitlist in all classes.

What You'll Do

  • Adaptability Across Age Groups: Work with different age groups, adjusting care and teaching approaches based on the developmental needs of each group.
  • Maintain Ratios: Ensure proper staff-to-child ratios are maintained, especially during breaks, staff absences, or transitions between activities.
  • Assist with Transitions: Help children transition smoothly between activities, such as moving from playtime to mealtime, or preparing for nap time.
  • Classroom Preparation: Assist in preparing materials and setting up activities, ensuring the classroom is organized and ready for the day’s schedule.
  • Child Supervision: Maintain a safe and secure environment by actively supervising children, addressing their needs promptly, and intervening when necessary to ensure safety and well-being.
  • Communication: Collaborate with other staff members to communicate effectively about the needs of each child, any concerns, and the general flow of the day.
  • Classroom Cleanliness: Support the cleaning and maintenance of classrooms, including sanitizing toys, cleaning surfaces, and organizing supplies.
  • Follow Policies and Procedures: Adhere to all daycare policies, procedures, and state regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of children.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. A Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or coursework in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a daycare, preschool, or early childhood setting is preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and age groups.
  • Understanding of child development and age-appropriate practices.
  • Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health assessment
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Certification: CPR and First Aid certification is desired or willingness to obtain
