The Business Valuation Supervisor oversees the execution of in-depth financial and valuation analyses employing various methodologies to provide accurate assessments. This role will dive into complex financial models, collaborate with clients to uncover their unique value drivers, and offer expert insights that shape their strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Execute in-depth financial and valuation analyses using various methodologies
  • Develop complex financial models to support valuation assessments
  • Apply diverse valuation techniques such as capitalization of earnings, public company analysis, and discounted cash flow analysis
  • Utilize a comprehensive toolkit of valuation methodologies to ensure accurate and well-rounded assessments
  • Gain a deep understanding of client businesses through effective communication and management interviews
  • Collaborate with clients to identify key value drivers and strategic considerations
  • Provide expert-level insights and recommendations based on valuation outcomes
  • Produce and prepare comprehensive valuation reports detailing analysis, assumptions, and conclusions, presenting findings and insights to clients in a clear and concise manner
  • Work collaboratively with team members on various engagements
  • Provide leadership and guidance, and mentorship to junior analysts and interns, and leverage and supervisory experience
  • Ability to perform Quality of Earnings engagements and provide related transaction advisory services
  • Share industry best practices and keep the team informed about emerging trends in business valuation
  • Utilize strong networking skills to cultivate and maintain relationships with clients, resulting in successful engagement acquisition and closure
  • Conduct site-visits and assist junior team members with completing ride-alongs

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Masters preferred
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience in business valuation
  • Industry specific certifications (CFA, ABV, ASA, or CVA)
  • In-depth knowledge of financial analysis principles
  • Proficiency in various business valuation methodologies and techniques
  • Advanced skills in developing and interpreting complex financial models
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing business valuations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts in a clear and understandable manner
  • Capacity to think strategically and contribute to clients' long-term planning
  • Ability to conduct high-level management interviews, extracting pertinent information to enhance valuation processes
  • Advanced modeling skills using tools like Excel to support valuation assessments
  • Supervisory skills to guide a team effectively
