Purpose:

As our IT Manager - Appian, you will lead the strategy, delivery, and ongoing evolution of the Appian platform, ensuring it enables scalable, secure, and high-performing business solutions across the enterprise.
This role combines platform ownership with Agile delivery leadership, partnering across architecture, infrastructure, security, product, and business teams to deliver innovative workflow automation that drives measurable business outcomes. Success in this role requires technical leadership, a people-centered leadership approach, strong collaboration, critical thinking, adaptability, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Accountabilities:
  • Lead the strategy, governance, architecture, and operational health of the Appian platform, ensuring security, scalability, reliability, and performance across all environments.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing Appian engineering team, fostering an inclusive, people-centered culture focused on coaching, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Drive Agile delivery by partnering with Product Owners to prioritize work, manage capacity, deliver releases, and continuously improve team performance and delivery metrics.
  • Establish development, integration, security, and platform standards while overseeing enterprise integrations, platform upgrades, monitoring, incident management, and technical debt reduction.
  • Partner across Technology and business teams to identify automation opportunities, promote reusable solutions, and deliver scalable digital capabilities that improve operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience leading enterprise application platforms, software engineering, Agile delivery, or enterprise technology solutions, or relevant experience; including 2+ years of direct or indirect people leadership experience.
  • Experience with Appian or a comparable low-code/BPM platform, along with strong knowledge of Agile delivery, enterprise integrations, APIs, cloud technologies, DevOps/CI/CD, and platform operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to build high-performing teams through coaching, inclusive leadership, talent development, sound decision-making, and a strong focus on risk awareness and operational excellence.
  • Strong critical thinking, communication, stakeholder management, adaptability, innovation mindset, and AI fluency, with the ability to identify opportunities where AI and automation improve delivery and business outcomes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
