As the Business Applications & Technology Manager, you will partner with leaders across the organization to maximize the value of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and related technologies while driving process improvement, automation, user adoption, and business transformation. This highly visible role combines technology leadership, project management, vendor oversight, and handsโ€‘on collaboration to deliver solutions that support organizational growth and operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Business Applications & Technology Manager serves as the primary liaison between business operations and technology partners, driving the effective use of Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure-based solutions, and related business applications. This role is responsible for technology strategy, application governance, vendor management, solution delivery, and business process improvement to ensure technology investments support organizational goals and deliver measurable business value.

This is a business-focused technology leadership role, with infrastructure, cybersecurity, and technical operations primarily managed through external partners. As a working manager, the successful candidate will lead, coach, and develop team members while actively partnering with stakeholders, managing projects, and collaborating with internal and external resources to deliver business results.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and performance management for assigned team members and development resources while maintaining active involvement in project delivery and operational execution.
  • Own the business application and technology roadmap for Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure-based solutions, and related technologies, evaluating emerging capabilities and AI-driven solutions to improve productivity, customer experience, and operational effectiveness.
  • Establish and oversee governance, security, administration, release management, and environment management practices for Dynamics 365 and Power Platform, ensuring system integrity, performance, compliance, and data quality.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify process improvements, automation opportunities, reporting needs, and technology solutions that enhance operational performance and support strategic objectives.
  • Lead user adoption initiatives, including training, documentation, change management, and business process alignment.
  • Translate business requirements into prioritized technology solutions and application enhancements.
  • Manage technology vendor relationships, including MSPs, software development partners, and other service providers, overseeing performance, service delivery, contracts, and issue resolution.
  • Lead technology projects through planning, budgeting, testing, implementation, stakeholder communication, and organizational change management.
  • Direct and prioritize work for internal and external development resources to ensure timely and effective delivery of business solutions.
  • Manage technology budgets, software licensing, vendor agreements, and related governance processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in business systems, enterprise applications, or technology management.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, and developing employees, technical teams, developers, or project resources while maintaining active involvement in project delivery and operational execution.
  • Experience leading, administering, and enhancing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions, including governance, security, integrations, and business application management.
  • Experience managing third-party technology vendors, MSPs, and software development partners.
  • Experience leading enterprise application implementations and technology projects.
  • Demonstrated success driving user adoption, business process transformation, and organizational change associated with enterprise applications.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and business relationship skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 functional expertise.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse, and model-driven applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based business solutions.
  • Business process analysis and continuous improvement experience.
  • Experience working within outsourced IT support models.
  • Project management experience and/or PMP, Agile, Scrum, or similar certifications.
  • Experience supporting finance, operations, HR, customer service, or healthcare-related business functions.
  • Experience establishing application governance, security models, and release management processes.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Power Platform certifications.
