Job description

Job Summary:
Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company delivering responsive launch services and spacecraft design. The Business Systems Engineer II will lead initiatives across the Supply Chain function, focusing on continuous improvement and the integration of AI-driven solutions into operations.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct in-depth analyses using SQL, R, Power BI, Python, and other tools to assess risk, gather intelligence, and formulate actionable plans.
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI-driven tools and systems to support supply chain operations, including intelligent agents and bots that act as "wingmen" for supply chain professionals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for AI integration, automation, and process optimization across the supply chain.
• Develop and deploy machine learning models to enhance forecasting, inventory management, procurement, and logistics.
• Proactively assess and develop opportunities for efficiencies and automation, including the use of AI to reduce manual tasks.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of procedures and documentation for AI-enabled tools and systems.
• Provide training and support to the broader team on new AI tools, reports, and processes.
• Identify and propose cost reduction opportunities across various products and services, leveraging AI to uncover hidden efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 2+ years' experience within a supply chain environment and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of work experience (HS Diploma and 6+ years of total work experience).
• Experience with at least one of the following: SQL, R, Python, or Power BI.
• Proficient using Microsoft Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
• Exposure to ERP systems.
Preferred:
• A passion for leveraging AI and technology to solve complex problems and improve operational efficiency.
• Proficient in MRP systems.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience with developing and deploying AI or machine learning models.
• Experience conducting wide-ranging research and applying findings to real-world applications.
• Clear, concise, and confident interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented with a strong ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proven ability to clearly communicate, manage multiple work tasks, and provide regular status updates.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and efficiently.
