The role focuses on streamlining workflows, managing cross-functional initiatives, driving continuous improvement, and enabling the operating companies to focus on delivering exceptional mechanical services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and standardize key business support processes (e.g., vendor onboarding, contract administration, insurance certificate tracking, licensing amp; compliance coordination, purchasing approvals, travel amp; expense policy enforcement).
  • Manage corporate-level programs and tools that support field operations, including centralized procurement portals, document management systems, reporting dashboards, and shared service workflows.
  • Lead or support cross-functional projects and initiatives (e.g., ERP enhancements, process automation, policy rollouts, system integrations, national vendor agreements) to improve efficiency and reduce administrative burden on operating companies.
  • Monitor and report on key operational metrics, compliance status, and support ticket trends; identify bottlenecks and recommend solutions to senior leadership.
  • Coordinate corporate-level audits, insurance renewals, licensing maintenance, and regulatory compliance tracking across all entities.
  • Develop, document, and maintain standardized operating procedures (SOPs), playbooks, and training materials for business support functions.
  • Provide training, guidance, and ongoing support to business support staff and field personnel at operating companies.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, Legal, Safety, and other corporate teams to align support services with company goals and ensure timely resolution of escalations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to enhance service delivery and reduce costs.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5โ€“8+ years of progressive experience in business operations, shared services, corporate support, or process improvement roles, preferably in a multi-company, multi-location, or construction/services environment.
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects, standardize processes, and drive operational efficiency at scale.
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading initiatives from inception to implementation.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with ERP systems, document management tools, or workflow platforms (e.g., SharePoint, ServiceNow, Procore).
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Preferred

  • Experience in the construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC/plumbing, or field-service industry.
  • Prior exposure to shared services, centralized support models, or multi-entity corporate environments.
  • Knowledge of construction-specific processes (e.g., vendor management, insurance tracking, licensing, compliance).
  • Certifications such as PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, or similar process improvement credentials.
  • Familiarity with tools like Power BI, Tableau, or workflow automation platforms.
Core Competencies
  • Operational excellence and process orientation
  • Strong stakeholder management and collaboration
  • Problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset
  • Professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Adaptability in a fast-growing, multi-brand organization
  • Results-driven with a service-oriented approach

  • Work in a collaborative corporate environment focused on innovation, efficiency, and supporting field teams to deliver exceptional client outcomes.
