This Analyst, New Business Support - Life role supports the 1035 Exchange team within Life New Business, an area that helps move replacement business forward by reviewing 1035 requirements, coordinating next steps with case management partners, and working to obtain exchange funds needed for policy issuance and completion.

The analyst is responsible for managing work tied to external 1035 exchanges, including reviewing case details, identifying outstanding requirements, tracking follow-up needs, and helping ensure cases continue progressing through the new business process.

This role requires proactive outreach to external carriers and business partners to obtain status updates, resolve not-in-good-order items, and secure information or documentation needed to keep exchange cases moving.

The position adds value to the Life business by helping maintain service levels and turnaround on a growing volume of 1035 exchange work, while supporting accurate, timely progression of replacement cases that are critical to new business outcomes.

Experience and Skills RequiredRequired
  • Strong ability to manage multiple work items simultaneously and maintain follow-up discipline in a fast-paced processing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal partners and external contacts, including proactive outbound phone outreach.
  • Ability to identify missing information, research issues, and resolve exceptions to keep work moving forward.
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort partnering with case managers, team leadership, and other internal business areas.
  • Sound judgment, organization, and attention to detail when handling documentation, requirements, and status-sensitive case activity.
Preferred
  • Prior processing experience in Life New Business or a closely related operational environment is preferred.
  • Prior Nationwide experience and internal business acumen are preferred, ideally from Life, ISS, P&C, or another area that provides transferable knowledge of internal systems, partners, and workflows.
  • Familiarity with replacement or 1035-related work, requirements management, and case progression activities is preferred.
  • Experience working in a role that balances service, processing, and partner communication responsibilities is preferred.

The role is hybrid and expected to work in office (Grandview Yard) on Tuesdays and Wednesdays to support team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the processing and customer service of new life insurance applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

  • Communicate with clients, agents, and underwriters to gather necessary information and resolve application issues.

  • Maintain and update internal systems with application status and client information.

  • Provide training and support to entry-level team members.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

  • Handle complex customer inquiries and provide updates on application status.

  • Assist with the development and implementation of new procedures and best practices.

  • Participate in team meetings, lead team huddles, and contributes to Lean and continuous improvement initiatives.

May perform other responsibilities as assigned.

Typical Skills and Experiences:
