Basic Overview:   

An Account Executive at Centered Insurance Partners is responsible for managing and expanding a diverse book of business with our health care clients while cultivating strong relationships with both clients and insurance carriers. This role focuses on securing new business, renewing existing policies, and offering expert advice on insurance coverage needs.

Scope:   

The Account Executive will engage in various activities related to client management, business development, and underwriting, ensuring that clients receive high-quality insurance solutions tailored to their unique requirements. This position may also involve mentoring junior team members and contributing to strategic planning for client accounts.

Responsibilities: 

Client Management: 

  •  Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing exceptional service.

 New Business Development: 

  •  Identify and pursue new business opportunities through the development of marketing plans and making presentations to potential clients.

 Renewal and Retention: 

  •  Manage the renewal process by negotiating pricing and terms with carriers and retaining existing business.

 Underwriting and Risk Management: 

  •  Analyze risk profiles, recommend appropriate coverage, and ensure compliance with insurance regulations.

 Claims Assistance: 

  •  Assist clients with claims by providing guidance and coordinating with claims adjusters.

 Carrier Relations:

  •  Develop strong relationships with insurance carriers, negotiate terms, and ensure timely processing of claims.

 Team Leadership and Mentorship: 

  •  Mentor and develop junior team members when applicable.

 Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for client accounts, focusing on risk management and insurance program development.

Qualifications: 

Proven experience managing employee benefits accountswithin an insurance brokerage or consulting firm
• Strong working knowledge of group health, dental, vision, life, disability, and ancillary benefits
• Experience serving as the primary client contact for mid-market and/or large employer groups
• Ability to manage renewal cycles, including data gathering, carrier negotiations, plan comparisons, and client presentations
• Solid understanding of carrier contracts, plan design, funding arrangements (fully insured, level-funded, self-funded)
• Familiarity with compliance requirements (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Section 125)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing presentations
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
• Proficiency with benefits administration platforms, spreadsheets, and brokerage management systems
• Collaborative mindset with a commitment to client service and long-term relationship management
• Active state insurance license (Life & Health) or ability to obtain quickly is a plus
• Experience working with self-funded or partially self-funded plans
