JOB DESCRIPTION:

 Axon is seeking a Project Manager that is responsible for the complete and seamless transition of customer orders from Axon sales team through the customer’s receipt of order. Through the utilization of BaseCamp and other communication mediums, the Project Manager will build rapport and establish lasting partnerships with customers. Additionally, the Project Manager will serve as the liaison between the customer and Axon’s Engineering, Manufacturing and Sales teams, to ensure complete and accurate understanding of customer needs and expectations, all the while maintaining open lines of communication and ensuring on-time delivery of projects. The Project Manager will work with various departments within the company to provide the customer with accurate project timelines, pictures, videos, and coordinate the facilitation of Factory Acceptance Testing. The Project Manager reports to the VP / General Manager. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Record, process and inventory customer films and samples. This includes reviewing test materials against current project scope.
  • Measure and document all aspects of film documentation, including lay flat, thickness, core size, seam location, COF and overall visual quality of film.
  • Photograph, record dimensions and upload product documentation information to appropriate locations (Basecamp, preliminary project folder, etc.).
  • Update daily in Basecamp the film and sample status for all projects in Basecamp
  • Product Shrink Testing and Documentation – Conduct product shrink tests for potential customers by completing a shrink tunnel parameter sheet, videoing the process for Sales purposes, photographing the results and boxing the finished samples for return shipment or shelf storage.
  • Maintain and organize customer storage film and sample area, along with maintaining database to assist Sales and Sales process.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas including tunnel test areas, and keeping test equipment operational and up to date.
  • Attend Daily Stand up when required.
  • Review daily projects on production floor and communicate through Basecamp any discrepancies or issues which may arise.
  • Assist with FAT’s when required.
  • Assist PM’s and Sales team when potential or existing customers visit the facility.
  • Coordinate with internal resources and customers to ensure that assigned projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelors’ degree in engineering or equivalent experience of 1-3 years in the new machine manufacturing business a plus.)
  • Experience in project leadership or in the packaging industry a plus
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents
  • Experience with process improvement / Value Stream Mapping
  • Analytical skills to synthesize complex and diverse information
  • Problem Solving skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, including gathering and analyzing information, developing alternative solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal and team skills to manage departmental goals toward successful project completion
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
  • Self-motivated, demonstrated sense of urgency
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office – Word/Excel/PowerPoint/MS Project, or similar
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to handle multiple priorities, including covering for other project management team members when unavailable
