Newport Mental Health (NMH) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the planning, execution, and oversight of complex, organization-wide strategic initiatives. This role functions as a key operational partner to executive leadership, helping translate strategic priorities into structured, actionable projects while ensuring cross-departmental coordination, accountability, and timely delivery.



Essential Duties:

Strategic Portfolio & Business Plan Execution

  • Provide centralized project management oversight of the organization’s strategic goals, translating high level goals into executable, time bound initiatives across departments.
  • Maintain a comprehensive view of all strategic and operational projects to ensure alignment with organizational priorities, capacity, and sequencing.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify dependencies, risks, and resource conflicts that could impact delivery of strategic initiatives.

Cross Departmental Project Leadership

  • Lead and coordinate cross functional project teams involving operations, clinical programs, finance, HR, IT, quality, development, and external partners.
  • Establish clear project ownership, roles, milestones, and success metrics to ensure accountability without directly managing staff.
  • Facilitate regular project touchpoints to surface barriers early and keep initiatives moving forward.

Project Planning, Tracking, and Delivery

  • Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for all enterprise initiatives.
  • Proactively monitor progress and intervene when projects fall behind schedule, scope, or intent.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, remain productive, and deliver intended business outcomes.

monday.com Platform Ownership & Standards

  • Serve as the enterprise owner and administrator of monday.com as the organization’s primary project management system.
  • Establish and enforce standardized project templates, status definitions, timelines, and reporting structures within monday.com.
  • Maintain real time dashboards that provide leadership with visibility into project health, deadlines, risks, and dependencies.
  • Train leaders and project owners on effective use of monday.com to ensure accurate, up to date reporting and shared accountability.

Executive Reporting & Decision Support

  • Produce concise executive level reports and dashboards that summarize project progress, risks, and required decisions.
  • Translate complex project activity into clear, action oriented updates for senior leadership and board level discussions when needed.
  • Support leadership decision making by identifying tradeoffs, sequencing needs, and capacity implications.

Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

  • Identify recurring bottlenecks, inefficiencies, or duplication across projects and recommend process improvements.
  • Support standardization of workflows, tools, and communication practices to increase organizational efficiency.
  • Promote disciplined project management practices that reduce rework and improve follow through.

Risk, Issue, and Dependency Management

  • Maintain an enterprise level view of risks, interdependencies, and competing priorities across projects.
  • Escalate issues requiring executive intervention and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Track action items and resolution plans to closure.

Change Management & Implementation Support

  • Support leaders in planning and executing change initiatives associated with new systems, processes, or organizational initiatives.
  • Assist with rollout coordination, communication planning, and timeline management to ensure adoption and sustainability.

Vendor & External Partner Coordination (as assigned)

  • Coordinate project timelines and deliverables involving consultants, vendors, or external partners to ensure alignment with internal workstreams.
  • Track obligations, due dates, and deliverables to avoid delays or misalignment.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish predictable project governance rhythms (planning cycles, updates, reviews) that keep work moving without unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Continuously refine project management practices, tools, and reporting based on organizational needs and leadership feedback.
Requirements:

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of project management experience.
  • Project management certification (PMP, CAPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent).
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated environments.
  • Experience supporting senior or executive leadership
