Who You'll Work With:

The ACE team develops software to automate workflow-driven processes for account and security business functions across front, middle, and back offices. Supported tasks include cash movements, security transfers, corporate actions, account data mastery, asset-mix changes, guideline routing, security setup, client trade requests, and data mastering. The team collaborates with stakeholders across the Investment SBU, Client Group, Retail, Private Alts, Investment Operations, Legal/Compliance, ABIS, and more.

The successful candidate will work primarily with AB Retail SMA Account process. Integrating with many systems both inside and outside of AB.

What You'll Do:

The Programmer Analyst will join the ACE team, primarily supporting our Retail SMA business. This role involves acting as a connection point with our external partners at other companies and collaborating with various internal teams at AB.
The Programmer Analyst will work closely with Application Architects to deliver new solutions within the existing ACE application framework, consolidate and upgrade existing functions, and provide production support to a large user population. The ACE application is a moderately high-volume, transactional system that processes roughly 80 different workflows and transaction types. ACE transactions vary in function from simply moving information to be refined by different departments, to moving, posting, or trading, either securities or cash.

A successful candidate will be risk-aware, business-focused, cool-headed, and technically proficient. In working with business partners, the candidate's coding fluency will be a key success factor as the code is adapted and evolves with the solution. The candidate will be highly involved in the process and, once trained, will be expected to listen, learn, and contribute to determining the best approach to accomplish the business's tasks.

What We're Looking For:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field

  • 2+ years of hand-on programming experience with C# .NET 4.x Framework or .NET Core

  • Working knowledge of SQL programming (SQL Server preferred)

  • Ability to understand complex business requirements and conceptualize software solutions

  • Ability to communicate and partner with business users and other development teams

Preferred Skills (not required):
  • T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, optimization, bcp, SSIS

  • XML, JSON, Serialization

  • WPF, WinForms, DevExpress, and MVVM pattern

  • WCF, Web Services, MSMQ

  • DevOps, Git

  • Demonstrable experience in the Securities industry, namely working with accounting and/or transition-based
