Organization Background:


The Flemington Improvement District (FID) is a Business Improvement District (BID) working on behalf of

commercial property owners and businesses in Historic Flemington Borough. The BID is overseen by an eleven-member elected Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director. Its mission is to drive economic development and tourism to the borough and our businesses, attract new businesses and retain current businesses, advocate for our stakeholders, and beautify our streetscapes.


Position Summary:


The Program Manager supports the FID's marketing, events, and day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on social media, digital content, and marketing material production. This role works closely with the Executive Director to build the district's public presence by creating and posting social content, producing marketing and video materials, and managing event logistics, while also liaising with vendors and supporting administrative operations. It's a strong fit for someone organized, personable, and equally comfortable with creative work, logistics, and community outreach.

Reports to: Executive Director

Check-ins: Weekly one-on-one with the Executive Director

Performance reviews: Quarterly, plus a formal annual review


Key Responsibilities


Marketing, Digital & Social Media

• Create and post social media content, including graphics, video, and copy, across FID/Love Flemington

platforms

• Track and report on social media metrics and engagement data to guide content strategy

• Create and support distribution of marketing materials, including print, digital, and video, such as flyers,

signage, ads, and email campaigns

• Shoot and edit short-form video for events, promotions, and social content

• Maintain and update the FID/Love Flemington website

Events & Programming

• Plan, coordinate, and staff FID events (festivals, holiday programming, Sip & Stroll, etc.)

• Support key event logistics: permits, rentals, signage, volunteer schedules, and day-of setup/breakdown

• Recruit, onboard, and communicate with event vendors, sponsors, and performers

• Track event budgets, timelines, and post-event recaps and metrics

Vendor & Stakeholder Relations

• Liaise with vendors on contracts, logistics, and day-to-day needs

• Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for FID merchants and community members

• Support outreach to build merchant participation in FID programs

• Represent the FID at community meetings, tabling events, or partner functions as needed

Operations & Administrative Support

• Maintain district databases, merchant contact lists, and CRM/email systems

• Assist with invoicing, purchase orders, and basic budget tracking

• Prepare materials for Board meetings, committee meetings, and public presentations

• Attend all Board meetings and FID events, as agreed upon with the Executive Director

Economic Development Support

• Support business retention through regular merchant check-ins, flagging emerging needs or concerns

• Help track commercial vacancies and available storefronts, and maintain relationships with brokers,

property owners, and landlords

• Assist with research, grant writing, and small business support programs


Minimum Qualifications:


• Experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, event planning, small business, or a

related field

• Hands-on experience creating social media content and comfort with platforms such as Instagram,

Facebook, and TikTok

• Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar) and comfort shooting and editing short-

form video

• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace; familiarity with email marketing tools and website

platforms a plus

• Schedule flexibility required, including ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events

• A collaborative, can-do attitude and genuine interest in local business districts and community building

• Ability to lift 30+ lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time, and tolerate outdoor weather conditions

• Valid NJ Driver's License and consent to a criminal background check


Position Details:


• Full-time, 40 hours per week; availability and flexibility for events and programming is required

• Work will be based in the FID office or in the field

• This position does not include health care benefits

• Starting salary: $58,000/year, with 10 days of PTO and federal holidays.
