Savage Company is looking for a Financial & Logistics Coordinator that will support rail logistics functions and business process functions. We are stewards of data integrity, processing, analyzing, and validating Savage's financial and operational data. All information flowing between the field and back-office is our responsibility whether it's keyed by hand or interfaced across systems. We are the support hub for our field team members, acting as a single point of contact for all back-office support.

Here is what you will be doing
  • Interface directly with customers
  • Manage customer orders and inventory systems
  • Follow written and/or verbal instructions with minimal supervision
  • Check emails throughout the day for order status changes/additions
  • Ensure all railcar inbound and outbound inspections are complete before releasing and filed
  • Follow Savage/customer policies and procedures (internal controls, record retention, verifications, etc.)
  • Fax or scan Bill of Ladings to customers and designated parties (as required)
  • Directly process data such as initiating system interfaces, creating customer invoices, coding AP, etc.
  • Validate data manually or through automation
  • Manage multiple communication channels between operations and the back office
  • Monitor and reinforce accounting processes and internal controls
  • Review income statements to identify timing and posting issues for revenues and expenses
  • Interface with teams that are functionally and geographically diverse
  • Provide administrative support covering logistics, HR, and financial functions
  • Answer incoming phone calls and greet office visitors, directing them appropriately

  • Attention to detail, self-motivated, and strong organizational skills
  • Multi-task in fast paced, consistent high volume environment
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and Power Point, Outlook
  • Work overtime when needed
  • Professional interaction and collaboration with other Savage Team Members and customers
  • Dependability in attendance required
  • Time management skills
  • 2 years of professional work experience (Required)

Here are some of the physical requirements
  • Commitment to working safely at all times
  • 100% in office
  • Must be physically able to do the following:
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Must be able to work with telephones, computer and other office equipment
  • Consistently sit, reach, climb, stoop, kneel and crouch
  • Walk long distances
  • Lift up to 25lbs regularly
  • Lift and move 40 lbs at times
  • Wear required PPE
  • Position may require some travel for training purposes

Work Environment
This is primarily an office position. In the office, the employee will be frequently exposed to normal office noises such as telephones ringing, copier running, etc. The noise level in the office is typically low to moderate.
