Seasonal Retail Associate – College Textbook & Apparel Store

Location: University of Wisconsin - Steven's Point
Compensation: $12.00/hour
Job Type: Seasonal, Part-time, Hourly

The UWSP Campus Textbook & Apparel Store is hiring Seasonal Retail Associates to support our team during the busy back-to-school season. This temporary position is tentatively scheduled to end on September 30, 2026.

We are looking for dependable, detail-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and providing excellent customer service. This role primarily supports our college textbook rental operations, including receiving, stocking, organizing, pulling, and processing textbooks, while also assisting with apparel, merchandise, and general store operations as needed

Key Responsibilities:

Textbook Rental Operations:

  • Receive, sort, stock, and organize textbooks and course materials.
  • Pull and stage textbook rental orders for customer pickup.
  • Assist with textbook rental processing, returns, and inventory organization.
  • Maintain accurate shelving and organization of textbooks to ensure efficient customer service.

Store Maintenance & Operations:

  • Ensure the store remains safe, clean, and well-organized for customers and staff.
  • Clean and sanitize workstations, counters, door handles, phones, credit card machines, and signature pads.
  • Regularly clean the breakroom and vacuum rugs, entry mats, and other designated areas.
  • Empty trash bins and ensure waste is disposed of properly.

Stocking & Organization:

  • Ensure shopping bags, receipt paper, and barcode labels are readily available at registers and workstations.
  • Organize and restock clothing returns and merchandise while keeping displays neat and visually appealing.
  • Straighten and organize customer pickup orders for easy retrieval.
  • Maintain the organization of hangers, clothing racks, and the overall store.
  • Clean store walkways using a Swiffer to provide a pleasant shopping experience.

Required Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness and organization.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
