What you'll do:
The Category Business Analyst – Outerwear supports SportChek's Canadian retail operations by managing vendor processes, analyzing product lines, and providing insights that help meet customer needs. This role supports Category Business Managers in developing relevant store assortments aligned with financial goals and brand strength. The analyst also helps optimize cross-functional processes to enhance collaboration and operational efficiency across merchandising, planning, marketing, and supply chain teams, reviewing new and existing product lines across wheeled goods, including cycling, inline, and action sports, and completing analysis that helps us better meet the evolving needs of our customers.
As a key member of our buying team, you will be at the centre of our retail organization. You will support Category Business Managers in creating compelling, relevant assortments for our stores by providing robust analysis and key insights that strengthen the brand with our customers and deliver against category-level objectives and financial goals. You will also contribute to the development and optimization of cross-functional processes that improve collaboration across merchandising, planning, marketing, and supply chain teams. Your work will help drive operational efficiency, streamline decision-making, and support alignment across the business to deliver a seamless customer experience.
What you bring:
Undergraduate and/or post-graduate degree in Business, Commerce, Retail Management, Data & Analytics, or a related field.
Retail experience in an analytical role is an asset; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate, influence, and negotiate with colleagues and senior business partners.
Strong presentation skills, with the ability to adapt style and format to suit the audience.
Technical knowledge of bike building, repair, and maintenance is considered an asset.
