The Business Analyst's role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders, bethey customers or end users. This includes strategic planning of project & initiatives, interviewing stakeholders,gathering and compiling user requirements, and working with development teams to understand andimplement the technology solutions they need.


The Business Analyst will also apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help thebusiness make good technology decisions. The Business Analyst will also be proactive about working with thebusiness functional areas to look for new technologies to optimize business processes.

The Business Analystwill play a pivotal role in ensuring Technologies understanding of business requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison with Enterprise Tech team, Operations, and Finance teams to address cohesive articulation ofbusiness goals and processes to ensure effective technology solutions and process improvements.
  • Able to gain clear insights into current business practices, work with those users and develop writtenbusiness process flows for specific business functions and understand where overlap and intersectionoccurs.
  • Ability to create and present key requirements for:
    • Effective communication with all employee levels and levels of management
    • Scope Documents
    • Use Cases
    • Detailed Specification of Key Business Rules
    • Process/Data Diagrams
    • Maintain system documentation
    • Develop and implement solutions for user requirements
    • Provide Specs and Design documentation to the Technical team
  • Understanding and ability to analyze and query application data.
  • Verification of feasibility of Business User's request functionality and business rules based on existingtechnical systems and data structures.
  • Collaborate and work as a team - motivate small project teams.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced, self-directed environment required
  • Proactive interaction with business stakeholders to improve business process, understand pain points and business priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, better utilization of resources, product enhancements,improved communications and faster issue resolution.
  • Business analysis tasks such as business requirements gathering; documenting current and futurestate workflows including cross functional interdependencies.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of all functional documentation by constantly communicating withthe business
  • Stay updated with Application team on new system functionality/releases and guideimplementation/training with business and technical teams.
  • Research and recommend best industry standards and practices where applicable.
  • Develops expert understanding of Finance business processes and the cross-module mapping ofthese to ERP and other applications.
  • Develop test strategies and coordinate testing where applicable.
  • Validate accuracy of reporting, analyze data for trends relating to user behaviors, process efficiency,and system usage.

Position Requirements

Formal Education & Certification

  • College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science,finance, or information systems.
  • BA and/or PMP certified (desired)
  • Three to five years related work experience.


Knowledge & Experience

  • Financials background desired
  • ERP system knowledge, CMiC experience desired
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the organization's core business process and operations.
  • Proven experience with business and technical requirements analysis, elicitation, modeling,verification, and methodology development.
  • Experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software and hardwaresolutions, systems, or products.
  • Ability to create systematic and consistent requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Exceptional analytical and statistical skills with the ability to apply them to systems issues andproducts as required.
  • Clear understanding of product management and market placement.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and project management software skills, including planning,organizing, and managing resources.
  • Understanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.
