The Operations Policy and Country Services (OPCS) Context
The Operations Policy and Country Services (OPCS) of the World Bank plays a pivotal role in achieving the World Bank Group's (WBG) mission. OPCS is at the center of the 'operations complex' and plays a critical role in supporting the Bank's leadership on all issues related to Bank operations. OPCS develops and oversees operational policies and procedures for country engagement products, lending operations, advisory services and analytical support, financial management, procurement, environmental and social safeguards, as well as development outcome risk and results reporting. It also serves as a link between the operational units and the Board of Directors. OPCS provides advice and support to Bank management and staff as well as hands-on assistance to help teams apply the Bank's policies, processes, and risk management tools for our country clients. Working in OPCS helps World Bank professionals gain broad exposure to strategic operations issues and develop a deeper understanding of the business of the Bank.ย 
OPCS is organized into the Front Office and Four Departments:ย 
The Front Office (OPSFO) focuses on supporting the OPCS Vice President (VP) in the management of the operations complex and the delivery of key corporate policy commitments and reforms.ย 
Operations Standards, Procurement, Financial Management (OPSPF) is responsible for safeguards, procurement, financial management and anti-corruption policies and support to operations;
Operations Policy (OPSPO) consolidates the corporate support and oversight of country strategies and all financing and advisory instruments as well as managing the Operations Committee and the Operations Help Desk;
The Operational Effectiveness & Efficiency Department (OPSEE) supports Sr. Management, operational teams, and clients in achieving results & impact through efficiency and effectiveness in operations.
Operations Standards, Environment and Social (OPSES) is responsible for the Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and Safeguard Policies, including support to operations, learning and training, knowledge management, reporting, interface with the Inspection Panel, and management of the Grievance Redress Service (GRS).ย ย 
OPSCE Unit Context:ย 
The Country Economics Unit (OPSCE) within the Operations Policy Department (OPSPO) provides policy, quality support, review, and advisory functions for DPFs, CE products, and Analytical and Advisory work. The unit also works closely with the Finance complex on issues related to IDA and IBRD policy and financing and manages the annual Bank-wide Country Policy and Institutional Assessment (CPIA) process. OPSCE also contributes to the debt sustainability and transparency agenda through its active participation on the Sustainable Development Finance Policy (SDFP) Committee. The unit is also very involved in a broad range of strategic, high-level streams of corporate work, working closely with other departments across the WBG on enhancements to our Country Engagement model, Operational Efficiency and Effectiveness, the Crisis Toolkit, The Financial Incentives Framework for IBRD countries, Guarantee reforms, and Corporate Strategies. OPSCE unit also houses the Operations and Strategy Committee (OSC), previously known as the Operations Committee.
Duties and accountabilities:ย 
The Operations Analyst will work primarily on tasks related to the policy, training and quality control functions of the Country Economics Unit. She or he will contribute to analytical work on the effectiveness and impact of development policy financing and country engagement, and support the monitoring of DPF portfolio implementation, and of country engagement. The position holder's annual work program will comprise of individual assignments as well as tasks jointly delivered by the Country Economics team. She or he will support the Manager, Program Leaders, the Country Economics Team staff, and other OPSPO staff, in particular in the following tasks:
Proactive monitoring of WBG country engagement cycles and preparation of reports.ย 
Development and updating of databases, such as the DPF prior actions and CAT-DDOs databases, as well as on good practice examples, and extraction of data for analytical work.ย 
Provide inputs (analytics, data, tables, graphs) to studies, reports and presentations prepared by the Unit.
Synthesizing complex information into policy notes, internal reports, donor correspondence, and management updates, ensuring quality and consistency across deliverables.ย 
Maintenance of the internal CPF and DPF websites, through information updates, application of fixes and upgrading of design.ย 
Preparation of learning events - development of CPF and DPF Academy agendas and presentations logistics coordination (venue, speakers, participants), in liaison with the Learning Team.ย ย 
Respond to or re-direct questions related to CPFs and DPFs from the Help Desk.ย 
Support departmental responses to corporate requests - including from the Board and Senior Management.
Contribute to other analytical and operational policy tasks undertaken by the department such as the CPIA and IDA/IBRD resource allocations.
