Business Office Manager (BOM)

Skilled Nursing Facility

We are seeking an experienced Business Office Manager (BOM) to oversee accounts receivable and private pay collections for our skilled nursing facility. This role has direct ownership of AR, works closely with a third-party billing company, and is responsible for ensuring timely collections and payment enforcement.

This position is not a general administrative role and requires prior SNF business office or billing experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage accounts receivable (A/R) for all payer sources

  • Oversee and enforce private pay collections, including payment plans and follow-up

  • Serve as the primary liaison with the third-party billing company

  • Monitor A/R aging, balances, and collection efforts; escalate issues as needed

  • Work directly with residents and families regarding private pay balances and financial obligations

  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and payer requirements

  • Maintain accurate census and payer source information

  • Prepare reports and updates for leadership

Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a Business Office Manager or in SNF billing/collections required

  • Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and private pay

  • Proven experience with A/R ownership and collections

  • Comfortable having firm, professional conversations about payment

  • Experience working with third-party billing companies

  • Strong organization, follow-through, and accountability
