Drive Operational Performance in a High-Impact Airport Role

Avports is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to support the continued growth and operational excellence of Tweed New Haven Airport (HVN). This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in transforming airport data into actionable business intelligence, helping leadership make informed decisions that improve operational, financial, and commercial performance. The Opportunity

Reporting to the Airport Manager | COO, the Business Intelligence Analyst is an individual contributor responsible for maintaining and enhancing the airport's data and reporting ecosystem This position owns the end-to-end data pipeline, develops dashboards and forecasting models, ensures data integrity, and delivers insights that support executive decision-making.

The successful candidate will help transition data management from a third-party provider to an in-house AWS-based environment while supporting analytics initiatives across airport operations, parking, concessions, tenant performance, and financial reporting. This role also partners with leadership to evaluate and implement new technologies, automation, and AI-enabled tools that support operational efficiency and business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management

  • Support migration of data architecture from third-party managed systems to an in-house AWS environment
  • Own and maintain data pipelines, data integrations, and quality controls
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data processing jobs and resolve data quality issues
  • Maintain architecture documentation and onboard new data sources
  • Respond to ad hoc analytical and reporting requests from leadership

Dashboards & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain operational, financial, and commercial dashboards and reports
  • Analyze trends, KPIs, and performance metrics to provide actionable business insights
  • Build forecasting models and executive reporting tools
  • Support data-driven decision-making across airport functions

Process Improvement & Technology Enablement

  • Support evaluation and implementation of automation, analytics, and AI-enabled tools
  • Monitor effectiveness and adoption of technology solutions
  • Identify and recommend process improvements using data and industry best practices
  • Assist with optimization of operational systems, cloud-based platforms, and business applications

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, statistics, data analytics, information systems, computer science, or a related field; or a high school diploma/equivalent with five (5) years of directly related experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of progressive experience in business intelligence, analytics, or data management
  • Aviation, airport operations, transportation, infrastructure, or asset-intensive industry experience preferred

Technical Qualifications

  • Experience developing dashboards, KPI reporting, executive reporting, and business intelligence solutions
  • Experience with forecasting, predictive analytics, and performance reporting
  • Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and cloud-based data environments
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Required Technical Skills

  • AWS experience including S3, RDS (PostgreSQL), Glue, Lambda, EventBridge, SES, and related services
  • Advanced SQL and database querying skills
  • Power BI dashboard development, data modeling, and DAX proficiency
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Python scripting
  • API integrations and automation
  • Data quality monitoring and governance frameworks
  • Email-based data ingestion processes
  • Data migration and third-party vendor transition experience

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain airport security credentials
  • Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of Tweed New Haven Airport
  • Ability to work occasional extended hours as business needs require
