Requirements/Certifications:

Must be very well organized.

Strong interpersonal skills working amongst a diverse team of professionals.

Very strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience in gathering business intelligence and reporting requirements in previous roles.

Experience in project oversight, coordination or management.

Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is preferred, but not required.

Experience using Atlassian products such as JIRA and Confluence highly desirable.

Experience applying the principles of software analysis, development and design to ensure traceability from requirements to delivery, including establishing measure for 'approval' of end results. -

Experience with SQL query writing for data validation purposes

Experience working in a Data Warehouse environment with dimensional data models highly desired

Develops and maintains project plans and/or tasks lists.

Strong proficiency in MS Office- Excel and Word.

Other Microsoft Products such as Visio and MS Project would be beneficial, though, not necessary.

Strong working knowledge of SQL is required.

Analytical/problem solving skills

Experience gathering and documenting requirements that are 'development ready' particularly within a Business Intelligence operation would be particularly helpful

Description:

The Business Intelligence Specialist will assist with the gathering of reporting and business intelligence requirements and the oversight of implementations of our BI offering for upcoming client programs beginning in August and extending until January of 2018.

Activities will include project activity coordination, assembling various project artifacts and documents, meeting participation, coordination and facilitation, documentation deliverable creation and facilitating and conducting reviews of BI activities throughout the implementation period and into the post-implementation phase of the client implementations.

Serves as liaison between departmental team business owners, end users, IT, Claims and Clinical departments as well as training teams and end users.

Responds to ad hoc requests for support, reports and analysis using Cognos self-service tools or SQL queries.

Supports departmental management team by providing project status information.

May maintain task queues in JIRA and track the assignments of other assigned individuals to the project team to ensure on time and successful delivery of all project components.

Qualifications

Experience with SQL query writing for data validation purposes

Experience working in a Data Warehouse environment with dimensional data models highly desired
