Job description

TITLE: Business Analyst
DUTIES: We seek a Business Analyst based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel.
Serve as a liaison between the business unit function Finance and the IT Team, acting as a bridge to facilitate effective communication and collaboration. Ensure that IT solutions meet business needs and contribute to the overall success of the organization. Act as data analytics information technology lead for Drivetrain Morse Systems (DMS). Manage and analyze business data by working with the DMS Business Unit Data Analytics team, the Center of Excellence team and external developers. Optimize data retrieval and develop dashboard reports for business stakeholders to merge diverse and potentially conflicting business interests into a coherent cost-effective set of project priorities, following agile practices in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment. Facilitate IT solutions effectively to address business needs. Act as the primary point of contact for business seeking IT support and solutions. Oversee DMS IT project and portfolio initiatives to ensure alignment between project teams, stakeholders and leadership team. Maintain, build, and improve dashboards, reports, and different data analysis tools. Develop data load processes and data models to integrate data from various sources. Validate and integrate data management and software engineering technologies. Perform and participate in code reviews, peer inspections, and technical design and specifications, as well as document and review detailed designs. Collaborate on data warehouse architecture and technical design discussions. Manage and organize data in data lakes, while also keeping an eye out for trends or inconsistencies that will impact business goals. Align data architecture with business requirements and work with the Center of Excellence team to ensure technical feasibility. Act as a data steward to understand data sources and key data integration points. Define data integration and data storage strategies. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation (project charters and effective project plans), including report outs to management on project status. Assist business stakeholders across all levels in the definition of project scope and objectives and negotiate with the stakeholders to prevent scope creep.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Electronics Communication, Data Science, or Business Informatics and 60 months of experience in job offered or related.
5 years of experience in data engineering, data analytics, BI, data management, business analysis, and project management;
3 years experience with programming languages like SQL, Java, or Python;
3 years experience working with data ingestion / integration tools like HVR, Informatica, Qlik Replicate / Attunity Replicate, or Azure Data Factory and Synapse;
5 years experience working with data analytics and visualization tools like Power BI or Qlik Sense;
5 years experience working with data lake / data warehouse architectures and technologies like Snowflake or Alteryx, MS Synapse, or Apache Spark;
5 years experience working with SAP ERP, SAP HANA, PostgreSQL, or MES;
3 years experience performing SQL database design and data modeling;
3 years experience performing ETL (extract, transform, load) processes;
3 years experience with cloud technology and exposure in cloud tools like AWS or MS Azure;
5 years of experience completing projects with expertise in Agile, DevOps Project Management and Microsoft Project
