We are seeking a motivated Lead Preventative Maintenance Technician willing to learn. Summary of Responsibility:

Morris Midwest is seeking an onsite Business Development Representative (BDR) to support strategic growth initiatives across targeted manufacturing accounts and markets. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, expanding relationships within strategic accounts, and generating qualified opportunities for Capital Account Managers and regional sales teams.

The ideal candidate is proactive, relationship-oriented, and comfortable engaging with manufacturing companies through research, outreach, and networking. You should be organized, curious about manufacturing technologies, and capable of identifying opportunities through market intelligence, account research, and customer engagement.

What You Will Contribute:

  • Identify and develop relationships within strategically targeted manufacturing accounts.

  • Conduct account research, contact development, and buying center mapping to uncover growth opportunities.

  • Execute outbound prospecting activities including calls, emails, networking, and customer visits.

  • Support account-based marketing initiatives and targeted customer engagement campaigns.

  • Analyze market data, UCC filings, industry reports, and CRM information to identify opportunities and trends.

  • Collaborate with Capital Account Managers, sales leadership, marketing, and product specialists to support account development strategies.

  • Engage with trade associations, economic development organizations, technical schools, and industry groups to identify emerging opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate records and activity tracking within CRM and prospecting platforms.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 2–3 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, or a related role.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, machine tools, automation, or technical sales environments a plus.

  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to build rapport quickly over the phone and in person.

  • Organized, proactive, and self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

  • Comfortable using CRM systems, prospecting platforms, and market intelligence tools.

  • Technical curiosity and aptitude to learn manufacturing technologies and applications.

  • Data-driven thinker with a collaborative, resilient, and customer-focused mindset.
