About the Role

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to help identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities that support MyCity Transportation’s continued growth. This role is focused on building a strong opportunity pipeline, developing industry relationships, supporting proposals and RFPs, assisting with pricing research, and helping position the company to win new transportation contracts.

This position is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, relationship-driven, and comfortable working with internal teams to gather information, track opportunities, and support competitive proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor procurement portals, agency websites, industry publications, board meeting materials, and other sources for upcoming opportunities.
  • Maintain a qualified business development pipeline with opportunity details, deadlines, estimated value, fit, and next steps.
  • Build and maintain relationships with transit agencies, prime contractors, procurement contacts, government agencies, healthcare transportation partners, consultants, and strategic vendors.
  • Support proposal and RFP efforts by reviewing requirements, preparing compliance checklists, organizing proposal schedules, and coordinating content from internal departments.
  • Assist with market research, competitor analysis, incumbent contractor research, wage information, pricing assumptions, and other data needed to support growth decisions.
  • Coordinate with operations, finance, human resources, safety, and compliance teams to gather information needed for accurate and competitive proposals.
  • Represent MyCity Transportation at industry events, procurement meetings, networking opportunities, and partner discussions.
  • Provide clear updates to leadership on pipeline activity, proposal status, upcoming deadlines, relationship activity, risks, and recommended next steps.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, transportation, marketing, communications, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience in business development, proposal coordination, transportation, government contracting, sales, account management, or a related role.
  • Experience with public transportation, paratransit, shuttle services, non-emergency medical transportation, logistics, or government contracting preferred.
  • Strong writing, research, relationship-building, organization, follow-up, and communication skills.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, online procurement portals, and proposal tracking tools.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications. Benefits may include health insurance, paid time off, retirement benefits, professional development opportunities, and career growth opportunities.
