Position Title: Director of Sales & Events
Reports To: Assistant General Manager
Employment Status: Full Time; Year Round
Job Summary:
The Director of Sales & Events is responsible for developing and leading Brundage Mountain Resort's group sales, corporate business, weddings, private events, sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and resort event programming.
This position plays a critical role in expanding Brundage Mountain as a four-season destination by generating incremental revenue, increasing visitation, and creating memorable guest experiences beyond the resort's traditional winter business. The Director is responsible for the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, lead generation, proposal development, contracting, event planning, execution support, and post-event follow-up.
As a member of the Resort Leadership Team, the Director of Sales & Events works collaboratively with Resort & Real Estate Marketing, Food & Beverage, Retail, Mountain Operations, Guest Services, Facilities and Administration to create successful events, develop strategic partnerships, grow group business, and achieve the resort's revenue objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute annual sales and event strategies that support Brundage Mountain Resort's overall revenue, visitation, and business development goals.
  • Identify, prospect, and secure new group business including corporate meetings, retreats, incentive travel, reunions, associations, clubs, schools, and other organized groups.
  • Develop and position Brundage Mountain as a premier destination for weddings, private celebrations, and special events, with a particular focus on growing summer and shoulder-season business.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, community partners, tourism organizations, corporate contacts, and industry stakeholders to generate new business opportunities.
  • Develop sponsorship programs and strategic partnerships that enhance resort visibility, create revenue opportunities, and strengthen the Brundage Mountain brand.
  • Direct the planning and execution of resort events, festivals, races, concerts, activations, and community programs designed to drive visitation, guest engagement, and revenue.
  • Oversee the entire sales process including lead generation, site tours, proposals, negotiations, contracts, event planning, execution coordination, invoicing support, and post-event evaluations.
  • Work closely with Marketing to develop promotional campaigns, sales collateral, event communications, lead-generation initiatives, and advertising strategies that support departmental goals.
  • Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Retail, Mountain Operations, Guest Services, Facilities, Administration, and other departments to ensure successful execution of group business and special events.
  • Develop venue pricing, event packages, sponsorship offerings, and sales programs that maximize profitability while maintaining a high-quality guest experience.
  • Create and manage annual departmental budgets, revenue forecasts, sales pipelines, and event profitability reporting.
  • Monitor sales performance, market trends, competitive activity, and guest feedback to identify new opportunities for revenue growth and operational improvement.
  • Establish and maintain systems for lead management, sales tracking, contracting, event planning, customer communication, and post-event follow-up.
  • Supervise Sales & Events team members and guide daily departmental activities. Provide coaching, feedback, professional development, and performance management to ensure achievement of departmental goals.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration throughout the resort while serving as an ambassador for Brundage Mountain within the McCall community, tourism industry, and regional marketplace.

Job Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, Event Management, Communications, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in sales, hospitality, resort operations, destination marketing, event management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success developing and closing group, corporate, wedding, sponsorship, or event business.
  • Experience planning and executing events from concept through completion.
  • Experience managing, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of revenue management, budgeting, forecasting, contract negotiation, and business development.
  • Ski resort, mountain resort, destination resort, hospitality, or outdoor recreation industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of the McCall market, Treasure Valley, and regional tourism industry preferred.

Other Requirements:
  • Advanced level skier or snowboarder preferred.
  • Passion for outdoor recreation and the mountain lifestyle.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, business development, and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects, events, clients, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, revenue goals, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Experience developing sponsorships, partnerships, and strategic business relationships.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM, event management, and sales-tracking systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Valid Driver's License; ability to pass criminal background and motor vehicle record checks.
