Job description

Overview

The New York office of Lewis Brisbois, a full-service AmLaw 100 firm, is actively seeking a Business Development Manager. The Business Development Manager will work to advance the firm's litigation practices. This role will work closely with practice leaders and key stakeholders to develop and execute strategic marketing and business development initiatives that strengthen the firm's market positioning and drive growth. The Business Development Manager will have primary responsibility for several litigation practices, with an emphasis on Complex Business & Commercial Litigation and the promotion of the firm's National Trial Team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

The following list of essential functions is not exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned in addition to those listed. The items listed are considered daily functions associated with this position. 

  • Proactively identify and pursue new business development opportunities, coordinate attorney teams, lead pitch efforts, and manage opportunities from concept to submission.
  • Lead the development of pitches, proposals, RFP responses, and presentations.
  • Conduct client, prospect, and market research, monitoring industry trends and competitive intelligence to help position the firm to win new business.
  • Support the successful integration of lateral hires into the firm.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a similar role in a law firm or professional services firm required.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without sacrificing attention to detail.
  • Creative research skills, meticulous writing, proofreading and data entry skills, and capacity to interpret data.
  • Technological proficiency, especially with Microsoft Office programs, including Copilot; InDesign skills a plus.
  • Understanding of U.S. litigation terminology and framework.
