Job Overview:

Sweetheart Ice Cream is seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our dynamic team. This key role will focus on expanding our customer base, driving new business opportunities, and increasing sales in both existing and new markets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, a passion for the food and beverage industry, and a proven track record of developing and executing business strategies. As a BDM at Sweetheart Ice Cream, you will help drive the growth of our brand while building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Growth: Identify and develop new business opportunities for Sweetheart Ice Cream in both traditional and new markets. Expand our customer base through targeted outreach, partnerships, and lead generation.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve growth targets and revenue goals. Analyze market trends, customer preferences, and competitors to create tailored approaches for increasing market share.
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key clients, retailers, and potential partners. Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through excellent communication and service.
  • Product Promotion: Promote Sweetheart Ice Cream’s products to new and existing customers, presenting the unique qualities and advantages of our ice cream offerings to secure new business and expand sales.
  • Market Analysis: Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer feedback to adapt sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead negotiations with potential clients and partners, managing contract terms and conditions to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Sales Forecasting & Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales forecasts, progress reports, and updates on key performance metrics to senior management.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with sales, and operations teams to align business strategies and ensure the successful execution of sales plans.
  • Brand Representation: Represent Sweetheart Ice Cream at industry events, trade shows, and meetings to increase brand visibility and foster relationships with potential customers and partners.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and performance excellence.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, preferably in the food and beverage industry.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and executing business development strategies, with a focus on growth and customer acquisition.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with key stakeholders at all levels. Spanish a plus but not required.
  • Ability to understand market trends, customer needs, and competitive forces in the food and beverage industry.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales analytics tools.
  • A passion for ice cream and the food industry is a plus!
