Business Development Associate

Wunderkind

New York, NY • On-site, Remote

$48K - $66K/yr

Full-time

Job description

Ready to step out of the cookie-cutter SDR grind and into a role where your creativity, grit, and strategic thinking actually dictate your paycheck and career trajectory?
At Wunderkind, the Business Development Associate (BDA) role is the absolute engine room of our growth. We don't do mindless, automated spamming. Our BDAs are elite researchers and tactical copywriters who find innovative ways to break through the noise and open doors with decision-makers at the world's top online retailers.
Wunderkind is a performance marketing solution that uses AI and data to help brands acquire and retain customers through one-to-one, personalized messages across websites, email, text, and ads, guaranteeing a lift in revenue. We scale a brand's ability to create and grow customer relationships through websites, email, text, and ads. We believe individuals should have the freedom to choose the kind of internet they want. An internet that fosters genuine relationships with brands. An internet that treats humans like real people instead of "web traffic." We also believe in empowering brands to treat their customers as individuals, satisfying their unique needs with tailored experiences and thoughtful communication. By expertly personalizing, automating, and scaling beautiful one-to-one experiences, Wunderkind helps brands acquire new customers at scale and keep them loyal for life.
We demand world-class performance, but in return, we offer a launchpad unlike any other. We have a proven track record of rapidly developing our BDAs into lucrative Closing roles (AEs/BDs), Strategic Consulting roles, and Executive Concierge roles.
If you want to blend into the background, this isn't the place for you. If you want to own your success and scale your career, let's talk.
Let's Get One Thing Straight Before You Apply...
We don't believe in generic outreach or mass applications. We believe great opportunities are earned through thoughtful research, personalization, and genuine effort.
That's how we approach our prospects, and it's what we look for in the people who join our team. Your application is your first opportunity to show us how you stand out.
What You'll Do:
  • Execute Account-Based Magic: Build and execute hyper-customized, multi-channel outreach campaigns (via email, social selling, gifting, referrals, and corporate events) to hook key executive decision-makers.
  • Quality AND Quantity: Your success is not measured on soul-crushing daily activity vanity metrics. Instead, you are assessed on monthly quota attainment, revenue pipeline generated, and how you live our core values. You'll need to grind, but you'll need to do so with skill.
  • Deal Quarterbacking: Act as the strategic conduit between Sales, Marketing, and Leadership to map out target accounts.
  • Pipeline Partnership: Team up directly with Directors of Business Development (our closers) to keep enterprise prospects highly engaged throughout the full sales lifecycle.
What You Must Bring to the Table:
  • The 12-Month Rule: You have at least 12+ months of experience in a fast-paced Sales environment, with a proven track record of holding your role and hitting your goals for upwards of a year.
  • Resilience & Grit: You view "no" as a puzzle to solve, not a personal rejection. You have solid, undeniable evidence of your prospecting skillset.
  • Tech Stack Fluency: You are highly proficient with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and know how to use it for deep-dive account mapping, not just basic filtering.
  • An Analytical, Coachable Mindset: You are an entrepreneurial self-starter with a healthy dose of humility, resourcefulness, and a burning desire to constantly optimize your playbook.
Bonus Points For:
  • Prior experience navigating a B2B sales environment (if it was SaaS or MarTech, even better).
  • A clear, definitive goal to build a long-term, high-earning career trajectory in sales.
Why Wunderkind?
We don't just fill seats; we build future revenue leaders. We expect the absolute best from our team, but the rewards match the demands. If you want to learn the art of enterprise prospecting, get promoted based on merit, and work with a team that has your back, hit apply. (And remember: make it personal).
So what's the process?
Beyond the application stage, we'll ask you to:
1 Meet with a recruiter: 20 minutes and we'll explore whether you <> Wunderkind are a match. We'll talk comp, role, company, progression and your skills.
2 Pitch yourself: 15 minute time limit, Live. Elevator pitch at the ready: Why should we hire you? We'll ask a couple of questions based on your pitch & resumé.
3 Skills Assessment Mock: We'll ask you to build a Account-Based Marketing plan for a prospect opportunity and present it to us. Show us you can do the job!
4 Hiring Manager Formal Interview: If you've made it this far, its time to ask some final competency questions before we decide!
And then it's offer time, baby! Let's get you started with Wunderkind!
Fair compensation notice:
The base salary (excluding variable) range for this role is $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 in New York & California. Regional pay bands apply in other states. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each specific candidate; including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, applicable certifications, and geographic work location. This may vary depending on living location and market rate.
