Business Development Specialist

Invariant Corporation is seeking a talented and motivated Business Development Specialist to support and lead a variety of activities on new business opportunities. This position will also collaborate with technical leads, the business development team, and executive leadership to ensure Invariants business development activities are on track and align with corporate objectives.

Duties Include:

  • Pipeline Administration
    • Work with business area leads and capture teams to maintain an up-to-date pipeline.
    • Track action items and due dates associated with pipeline activities.
    • Coordinate Senior Leader Pipeline reviews and presentations.
  • Trade Show Support
    • Work with business area leads, marketing, and BD team to identify trade shows of interest and set priorities.
    • Work with internal and external design teams to develop booth layouts.
    • Support setup and tear down activities before and after trade shows.
    • Develop meeting plans throughout trade shows where Invariant is hosting.
    • Network with customers and industry partners during tradeshows.
  • Proposal Coordination
    • Maintain proposal development schedule.
    • Ensure proposal inputs are on track and filed in the proper location.
    • Host status meetings/scrums during proposal development process to ensure team stays on track.
  • Meeting Coordination
    • Setup and coordinate several BD related meetings to include:
      • Gate Reviews
      • Capture Deep Dives
      • Proposal Reviews

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and experience working in a DoW environment
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, SharePoint, Word, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Must demonstrate the ability to speak professionally to coworkers and customers
  • Must be comfortable engaging executive leadership to offer status updates and present plans of action
  • An active Secret Clearance

Preferred skills:

  • Operational experience working with weapon system hardware
  • Knowledge of operational use cases for weapon and training systems
  • Desire to pursue Defense Acquisition Training and/or Project Management Professional Certification

Work Environment:

Office environment. Must be willing to travel to customer locations, conferences, and meetings up to 25%.
