Job description

The Business Development Representative supports the credit union's growth by assisting with the development and maintenance of relationships with businesses, community organizations, and prospective members.
This position supports the promotion of the credit union's products and services through community outreach, networking, financial education, and business development activities. The representative assists in identifying opportunities to increase membership, strengthen community partnerships, and expand awareness of the credit union while delivering exceptional member service and representing the credit union in a professional manner.
There is significant community involvement with this role. Flexibility to attend events, gatherings, and meetings outside regular business hours including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends is required. Reliable transportation is required for attendance at assigned work-related events within Erie and Crawford County.
Proven sales experience is required. Must be proficient Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Essential Responsibilities:
  1. Maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, and community partners to promote the credit union's products and services.
  2. Generate new membership opportunities through business visits, outreach activities, networking, and participation in community events as assigned.
  3. Conduct sales calls, presentations, and onsite visits with prospective and existing community partners to identify new opportunities.
  4. Assist with opening new member accounts resulting from business development efforts while ensuring a positive member experience.
  5. Participate in local trade shows, community events, and educational seminars, including those outside traditional business hours.
  6. Assist in delivering financial literacy presentations and educational workshops to schools, businesses, and community partners.
  7. Prepare and maintain presentation materials, promotional resources, and other collateral used for business development activities.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the Business Development CRM, including business visits, sales calls, referrals, community partners, and relationship-building activities; provide weekly, monthly, and other reports as required.
  9. Assist with special projects and credit union events as needed.
  10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
