Job description

Role

Originates, manages, and supervises portfolio administration of a large group of commercial loans, with the overall objective of maintaining and increasing its asset quality. Develops new and existing business relationships.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

40%ย Participates in developing lending and deposit business for the company. Calls on prospects & existing clients seeking opportunities to expand the company's client base. Actively engages in business development and civic initiatives with contacts throughout the community, including customers and prospective customers to achieve defined goals.

30%ย Takes applications for commercial loan business. Obtains necessary documents to fully underwrite and document credit requests. Reviews customer financial condition and assesses the customer's ability to re-pay the loan. Makes underwriting decisions within approval authority. Completes or directs completion of all loan documents and closes loans.

10%ย Monitors, with the help of an assigned Assistant Relationship Officer,ย  existing loan portfolio to maintain a high-quality asset base. Maintains up-to-date client files including current balance sheets, profit & loss statements and all loan documentation. Responsible for ongoing portfolio management of relationships including identification and documentation of problem loans, policy exceptions, grade changes, annual reviews, watchlist reviews, and/or special reviews that may be required.

10%ย Troubleshoots and resolves internal and external inquires.

5%ย Establishes the structure of the loan, including pricing terms and duration in accordance with the customer relationship and company policies.

5%ย Assists in collection of past due loans. Maintains credit quality to minimizes exceptions, and to prevent past dues and charge offs.

Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience

At least two Years to five years of similar or related experience.

Education/Certifications/Licenses

A college degree is preferred; however, comparable job experience will be considered as a substitute for this.ย 

Other Skills

Ability to analyze applicants financial information, assess risk, and recommends approval of customer application for commercial loans based on a thorough due diligence process.ย Must have a valid Drivers License. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 4-6 hours per day. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Working Conditions

Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled private office with minimal noise
