Job description

Description
Roth&Co is seeking a Business Development Executive to accelerate client growth through relationship-based business development. This role is designed for a professional who understands the accounting or other professional services landscape and has an existing network of finance leaders and decision-makers in the middle market. This is not a high-volume, transactional sales role. Rather, the Business Development Executive will serve as a strategic connector - originating opportunities, qualifying clients and their needs, and partnering closely with firm leadership to convert relationships into long-term engagements.
Who This Role Is For
Successful candidates may come from backgrounds such as:
• Business development at an accounting or other professional services firm
• Executive recruiting focused on accounting, finance, or consulting leadership
• Former accounting or advisory professional who transitioned into client development
Key Responsibilities
• Leverage your existing network of senior executives, founders, CEOs, CFOs, and finance leaders to generate qualified opportunities
• Expand your network and represent the firm professionally by spending time in the market at conferences, networking events, and collaborating with referral sources
• Develop trusted relationships with Roth&Co partners and practice leaders to identify and nurture strategic targets, and support them throughout the sales cycle
• Maintain disciplined follow-up and pipeline tracking in CRM aligned to agreed upon pipeline and sales goals
• Build a strong working understanding of Roth&Co's audit, tax, and advisory service
• Understand ideal client profiles within each industry practice and specialty service at the firm
• Assist in pricing discussions, negotiations, and closing new client engagements
Requirements
Qualifications
• 10+ years of relevant experience in business development at an accounting or other professional services firm, executive recruiting, or former accounting/advisory service provider with proven client relationship development skills
• Demonstrated success generating opportunities through relationships and credibility, not solely cold outreach
• Understanding of accounting firm services and client decision dynamics preferred
• Experience supporting or managing opportunities through a consultative sales process
• Strong communication, self-discipline, judgment, and interpersonal skills
• Self-directed, organized, and comfortable working closely with senior leadership
What Success Looks Like
• Consistent delivery of qualified, strategically aligned opportunities that convert into long-term client engagements helping to achieve sales goals
• Strong trust and partnership with firm partners
• Meaningful contribution to the firm's growth and market presence
