Job description

Job Summary:
Emerson is a global leader in automation technology and software, and they are seeking a Business & Product Manager to drive investment direction decisions within their aerospace, defense, and government business unit. The role involves building business cases for new RF test products, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and leading market strategy to achieve business targets.
Responsibilities:
• Monitor key technology trends affecting cutting-edge applications, such as cognitive sensors, autonomous vehicles, emerging threats, and new silicon technologies.
• Track government program spending on relevant assets, especially RDT&E activities.
• Assess and define new market spaces, including total addressable market (TAM) and serviceable addressable market (SAM) analysis
• Develop product and offering objectives, including identifying key market challenges and validating customer value
• Lead design of differentiated product and offering and customer experience
• Develop end-to-end business plan for new products and offerings(s); set detailed direction and priorities across disciplines
• Effectively communicate with both highly-technical customer roles (e.g. Lead/Architect-level Design Engineers, System Engineers, and Test Engineers) and executive-level business leaders (e.g. Senior Program Managers, Business Development Managers, Director/VP of Product Line, Director/VP of Operations, etc.)
• Manage products and offerings in market and respond to market feedback
• Establish leading and lagging performance indicators and deliver financial results.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5+ years working experience in offering management, product management, product planning, new product definition, or related role. Job level will be set based on experience.
• Technical aptitude and curiosity to develop deep domain expertise
• Experience in a global and multinational technology company
• Experience developing and validating business cases and differentiated products or offerings
• Strong cross-functional team leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or other technology-related field required
• Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel
Preferred:
• MBA or Master’s degree in technology-related field, demonstrated P/L responsibility, or comparable business experience preferred
• Experience in commercial aerospace, defense prime contractors, or space sectors strongly preferred
• Experience with RF technology, especially test and measurement equipment
