Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Supervisor is accountable for the efficient day-to-day operation of the Inventory Control functions of the Distribution Center. The emphasis is on managing numerous operational activities to ensure the production floor is working in a balanced and productive fashion with respect to operational and service goals. The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of non-exempt staff within the inventory control department. The Inventory Control Supervisor performs other related duties, special projects, or assignments as required.
Essential Functions of Job:
  • Provides direct supervision to a team of skilled Inventory Control employees, which includes Workflow Coordinators and Associates as well as managing the relationship with the onsite staffing agency in relation to temporary agency employees working in the department(s)
  • Spends approximately 75% of their time on the operational floor with associates driving engagement, coaching, teaching, developing and providing performance feedback.
  • Effectively manage the allocation of equipment and labor resources to respective departments to ensure service levels and budgets are consistently met.
  • Ensure that quality and accuracy control audits are conducted regularly.
  • Administers policies/guidelines that directly affect work activities which include counseling associates consistently on performance and behavioral concerns.
  • Sets and clearly communicates clear expectations for team members regarding expected productivity results
  • Owns, completes, and delivers annual performance evaluations for each associate
  • Identify and prioritize those tasks which need to be accomplished in order to meet daily business goals and to successfully prepare the incoming shift for a quick and effective transition and start-up.
  • Ensure a safe environment for the team by driving safety strategies, recognition and accountability.
  • Improves efficiency, quality and service of ongoing work by identifying process improvements and using best judgment to determine next steps for influencing change and partnering with leadership to resolve.
  • Responsible for assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies, specific to inventory control requirements and standards
  • Resolves problems requiring broad based analysis to determine solution and presenting to Sr. Leaders.
  • Builds trust with direct and indirect business partners by explaining rationale behind business process and approach taken to decision making.
  • Discusses and presents information and issues with business partners located in support and operational departments
  • Plan and execute effective strategic, efficient cycle counting activities and physical inventories.
  • Regularly update and align on Inventory Control SOPs
  • Align with Operations team to ensure all inventory control associates receive proper training, skill development and assessment to include cross training as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Non-exempt associates within assigned department.

Working Conditions:
  • Moderate but varying temperature and humidity in office and warehouse environments

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to stand, sit, squat, lift and /or walk for the duration of the scheduled shift
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs

Minimum Qualifications:
  • College degree in a logistics-related field, or five to ten years of relevant / related work experience.
  • Previous experience in working with a Warehouse Management System (WMS) and/or ability to quickly develop a proficiency in such systems. Knowledge in "JDA" WMS preferred.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,140.00 - $83,980.00. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses. This job will be posted for a minimum of 5 days.
