Job Summary:ย 

This positionย representsย a strong developmental opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented student to gain hands-on experience within BDโ€™s Supply Chain organization.ย 

Reporting to the Procurement / Supply Chain leadership team, the Procurement Intern will support daily purchasing operations, supplier coordination, and data analysis activities. The role will contribute to improving procurement visibility, operational efficiency, and data accuracy through structured reporting, follow-ups, and process improvement initiatives.ย 

The intern will gain exposure to procurement systems, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration while supporting key business priorities in delivery, cost, and service performance.ย 

Job Responsibilities:ย (Primary Duties, Roles, and/or Authorities)ย 

  • Support purchase order (PO) management activities, including tracking open orders, confirmations, and delivery updatesย 

  • Follow up with suppliers on past-due orders and critical shortages to ensure continuity of supplyย 

  • Maintain and update procurement trackers (open PO report, shortage list, supplier follow-up log)ย 

  • Assistย in preparing weekly and monthly procurement reports, including:ย 

  • On-Time Delivery (OTD) performanceย 

  • Lead time trackingย 

  • Past due and risk analysisย 

  • Perform data validation and cleansing activities for supplier and material master data (lead times, pricing, MOQs)ย 

  • Support inventory and material flow analysis by reviewing stock levels, shortages, and excess inventory trendsย 

  • Assistย in cross-functional coordination with Planning, Warehouse, Quality, and Finance teams to resolve supply and invoice issuesย 

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives, including:ย 

  • Converting manual processes into digital tools (Excel, SharePoint)ย 

  • Standardizing reporting templates and trackersย 

  • Documenting basic procurement procedures (SOPs)ย 

  • Support supplier performance tracking and reporting for internal reviewsย 

  • Provide general administrative and analytical support to the Procurement team as neededย 

Minimum Education:ย ย ย ย ย 

This position has the followingย minimumย educational requirements:ย 

  • Currently pursuing aย Bachelorโ€™s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related fieldย 

Minimum Experience:ย 

  • No prior experienceย required; internship or project experience in supply chain or data analysis is a plusย 

Basic Knowledge andย Skills:ย ย 

Professional Skills:ย

  • Basic understanding of supply chain and procurement conceptsย 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skillsย 

  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, formulas preferred)ย 

  • Good written and verbal communication skillsย 

  • Attention to detail and data accuracyย 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a structured and organized mannerย 

  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems (SAP preferred) is a plusย
