JOB SUMMARY

Supervises the Demand Integration function within Market Operations Engineering, focusing on demand response and distribution-connected resource initiatives. Oversees staff supporting market participants and regulatory stakeholders, and drives continuous improvement of market programs aligned with ERCOT's strategic objectives.

JOB DUTIES
  • Assists with hiring, coaching, training, and performance management of staff
  • Reviews and approves staff timesheets and leave requests
  • Assists in preparing and recommending O&M and capital budget inputs for the department
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of the ERCOT Demand Integration group to support departmental and corporate goals
  • Supervises the development and implementation of programs
  • Helps ensure that ERCOT provides support to the continued evolution and success of existing markets
  • Coordinates investigations and analysis to aid in the resolution of issues related to demand integration programs
  • Ensures that the ERCOT demand integration group follows procedures established by ERCOT and the PUCT
  • Addresses Market Participant concerns
  • Promotes quality demand response through continuous process improvement
  • Develops and maintains working expertise in ERCOT procedures and business rules related to demand response activities
  • Helps prioritize initiatives for demand response related project
  • Analyzes business requirements for future system enhancements
  • Attends business meetings and collaborates with colleagues to develop best-practice policies and procedures, and to identify and resolve issues that support a flexible and efficient organization
  • Supports the development and delivery of presentations on business rules, protocols, and work processes
EXPERIENCE
  • 5+ years of job-related work experience in excess of degree requirements.
  • Electric utility operations and industry experience required.
  • 1 year experience in leadership/management preferred.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or related field required.
  • Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
  • Master's degree preferred
