Job description

Position Summary:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Lakemary's compliance program and ensuring organizational adherence to applicable federal, state, and local regulations. This position manages compliance processes, policy administration, regulatory documentation, licensing support, and operational compliance initiatives while collaborating with leadership to promote a culture of accountability and regulatory excellence. The Compliance Manager serves as a key resource to department leaders regarding regulatory requirements, policy implementation, and compliance best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Policy & Compliance Management

  • Manage the organization's Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Program utilizing Navex PolicyTech. 
  • Oversee policy review cycles, approvals, acknowledgments, and implementation. 
  • Ensure policies remain current with applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Coordinate policy development with department leaders. 

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Monitor changes to federal, state, and payer regulations impacting Lakemary. 
  • Interpret regulatory changes and communicate operational impacts to leadership. 
  • Coordinate organizational responses to new regulatory requirements. 
  • Maintain regulatory calendars and required compliance submissions. 

Licensing & Accreditation Support:

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Enterprise Risk & Quality Assurance in the coordination and preparation for licensing reviews, regulatory surveys, accreditation activities, inspections, and audits.
  • Partner with Enterprise Risk & Quality Assurance and operational leaders to collect evidence of compliance and support ongoing regulatory readiness.
  • Maintain organized records supporting compliance with applicable regulatory and licensing requirements, including KDADS, KSDE, CMS, Medicaid, and         other state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Support ongoing organizational readiness by assisting with mock surveys, documentation reviews, and regulatory preparation activities under the direction       of Enterprise Risk & Quality Assurance.
     

Compliance Monitoring:

  •  Develop and maintain compliance monitoring activities. 
  • Analyze compliance trends and identify opportunities for operational improvement. 
  • Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for leadership. 
  •  Monitor completion of compliance action items across departments. 

Education:

  • Coordinate organizational compliance education. 
  • Develop training materials. 
  • Ensure required compliance training completion. 
  • Provide guidance to leaders regarding policy interpretation. 

Committee Leadership:

  • Coordinate Compliance Committee meetings. 
  • Prepare agendas, supporting documentation, and compliance metrics. 
  • Track committee action items through completion.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare compliance, quality, regulatory affairs, licensing, or healthcare administration. 
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting healthcare regulations. 
  • Experience leading projects and coordinating cross-functional initiatives. 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Risk Management, or related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 
  • CHC, CCEP, or other compliance certification (or willingness to obtain). 
  • Experience with behavioral health, PRTF, Medicaid, CMS, KDADS, KSDE, or CARF standards.

Other Job Details:

  • Day Hours: Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm
  • Starting pay: Negotiable Based on Experience

Reporting Structure:Reports directly to Senior Director of Enterprise Technology & Corporate Compliance
