Job description

Part-time Business Office Associate

The Memphis Speech and Hearing Center (MSHC) is seeking a dependable and organized Part-time Business Office Associate to support front desk and administrative operations. This position serves as a key point of contact for patients, providers, and insurance companies while ensuring efficient patient flow and excellent customer service.

This position is part-time, 4 days a week. The hours of operation are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. The days worked are flexible.

Responsibilities

Greets and checks in patients and maintains accurate patient records. Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments. Collects copayments, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Answers phone calls and assist patients with scheduling and general inquiries. Communicates with insurance companies regarding coverage and claims. Coordinates with providers and graduate students regarding scheduling and patient needs. Interacts professionally with all individuals in the clinic. Follows all HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required. Prior experience in a medical office, healthcare administration, or insurance verification preferred.

Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Experience with electronic medical records and insurance verification
