Where You Will Work

In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation’s commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. Located in southeastern Arizona, close to more than 4 million acres of national forest, employees and their families can connect with the great outdoors while fishing, rafting, hiking and more. Several educational institutions also are nearby, including a Northern Arizona University satellite campus, Eastern Arizona College, and the Gila Institute for Technology.

What You Will Do

In this role, you support financial planning and analysis by gathering business requirements, analyzing cost and operational data, and preparing reports that inform strategic decisions, while maintaining a strong field presence and building relationships with operating departments to improve financial efficiency and ensure compliance with internal and external standards. As a Finance Business Analyst, you support the identification and documentation of stakeholder business needs and contribute to developing actionable plans that can be incorporated into cost models, assist with analyzing financial data and existing processes to identify trends, variances, and cost‑saving opportunities, and help monitor and analyze departmental costs related to equipment, labor, materials, and more. You will also support the preparation of company budgets and forecasts, assist communication between business stakeholders and technical teams, and help create detailed financial reports and presentations for management. In addition, you assist with analyzing large production, sales, and expense datasets to support decision‑making, support efforts to maintain compliance with applicable financial regulations, standards, and internal policies, and work closely with operations, procurement, and other departments to gather data and develop financial insights. This role further supports accounting activities such as journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial statement review, ensuring accuracy and alignment with established principles, while performing other duties as requested under general supervision.

  • High School diploma with six (6) years of financial/business analytics experience, OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related fieldAND two (2) years of experience, OR
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, Excel, and Business Objects
  • Strong analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and upper management, including presentation skills.
  • Understanding of financial regulations and SOX controls.
  • Exposure to manufacturing or mining industry financial operations.
  • Familiarity with OKRs and KPI tracking.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field or higher
  • Experience with OneStream, CoreStream, Ariba, and Blackline
  • Knowledge of safety culture and business conduct principles
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and drive continuous improvement
What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently $65,000 - $90,000. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
