Overview:

Citi is seeking a Technical Business Analyst at the VP level to join its Tampa office. This senior-level role requires a candidate who can quickly become productive with minimal learning curve. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, preferably with market data experience. However, candidates with solid technical expertise, high energy, and a willingness to learn market data will also be considered.

This position involves working on application development initiatives, including system and data analysis, requirements documentation, and process improvement, with a focus on market data-related projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead system and data analysis efforts to support application development initiatives.
  • Create clear and comprehensive documentation, including Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), and system flow diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and processes.
  • Identify system enhancements to deploy new products or improve existing processes.
  • Provide expert-level input on application design, architecture, and programming standards.
  • Support the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from requirements gathering to UAT and implementation.
  • Manage project backlogs, enhancement requests, and deliverables using tools like JIRA.
  • Conduct data analysis using SQL, Excel, and preferably Python to support business users and ensure data accuracy.
  • Perform impact analysis for existing systems and downstream data flows.
  • Offer guidance to mid-level analysts and developers, allocating tasks and providing mentorship.
  • Ensure adherence to compliance, risk management, and regulatory standards.

Key Qualifications:

  • 6-7 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Experience in the financial industry, preferably with market data domain expertise.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in:
    • SQL (including complex analytical queries)
    • Excel (advanced functions)
    • Python (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to write BRDs, FRDs, use cases, test cases, and conduct system integration testing and UAT.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Strong project management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly, adapt to changing priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment.
