Job Summary
At Alfa Insurance, our Research Analysts are entrusted with a range of crucial responsibilities that make substantial contributions to our Data Management department. They exhibit strong project management capability and have the ability to conceive, specify, pilot and implement analytical and data delivery projects. Our Data Management department is focused on utilizing and governing our data at Alfa to provide business insight in support of Alfa's strategic plan which increases efficiency and effectiveness for our customers.
Responsibilities
  • Query, assimilate, and translate data into usable formats for use by and under supervision of the Research Manager.
  • Create and integrate information using data from multiple source systems (Exceed, Legacy, GW, etc.), the Enterprise Data Warehouse and third-party data.
  • Create and maintain highly technical product requirement documents.
  • Contribute to the creation and continual maintenance of data mapping documents, report documents, and metadata.
  • Use advanced data modeling techniques to enhance managerial decision making (multidimensional analysis, data visualization, etc.)
  • Meet with user groups to define, build, and validate requirements for data and reports.
  • Ability to conceive, specify, pilot, and implement analytical and data delivery projects.
  • Exhibit strong project management capability.
  • Present data in graphical or written summary to facilitate rapid analysis.
  • Engage in adequate and positive communication on business issues, assignments, and work issues with peers, supervisors, and management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, or Information Systems.
  • Strong related work experience a plus.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel and software tools/languages designed for analytical work a plus (SAS, SQL, R, Python, SPSS, other).
