Job description

Position Title: Metrics Business Analyst

Position Overview:

S2Technologies is seeking a metrics business analyst to support Littoral Combat Ship Squadron TWO (LCSRON TWO). To improve their Squadron duties, including administrative control, training, maintenance, and readiness of assigned LCS ships and logistics support. In this role, you shall use associated best practice services to maximize data collection and provide interpretive metric and analysis across all business lines and minimize redundant efforts of ship crews and Division/Squadron staffs.

The analyst with our developer and and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop/create, update, and maintain databases to track and report data metrics and interpretive analysis from existing and new databases for maintenance, sustainment, and other operational needs, services, and requirements pertaining to Preventative Maintenance Availabilities (PMAV), Operational Availability (Ao), Material Availability (Am), Train to Qualify (T2Q) Replacement Sailors, and other standard practices. At times, these metrics and results will require updates to support management decisions and Flag level briefs. Some of these datasets have designs already drafted and/or processes in place using spreadsheets to collect the information. Some needs are not yet identified or designed. You will also assist in developing associated streamlined processes to reduce unnecessary work, churn, and duplicative efforts. You will assist/support LCSRON TWO Chief of Staff and Department Heads, as directed by the Chief f Staff, on a day-to-day basis in identifying, formulating, developing, and preparing comprehensive immediate and long-term process improvement recommendations; enabling LCSRON TWO to provide continuous, effective flow of information and responses to requirements for data and analysis, and to keep up to the pace of new and emerging technologies as they occur. Additionally, you shall provide the Chief of Staff and Department Heads, as directed by the Chief of Staff, with qualitative and quantitative reports, graphs, and charts that evaluate and measure the effectiveness of appropriate data collection, analysis, objectives and goals including trends, ranked items by performance, cycle times and analytical support for decisions and briefs

Responsibilities

  • Assist in development of information to improve maintenance activities
  • Create methods to pull applicable reports and queries from the databases and perform analysis and metrics on the data as agreed to by the associated work groups to meet business needs
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations in the design and development of tools, processes, metrics, and reports to meet the business needs
  • Provide products that convey complex analysis in easy to understand methods like graphs, charts, and tables
  • Use Access, SharePoint, SQL, VBA, HTML and other such tools of various database and web-design software to organize, analyze, and interpret data

Basic Qualifications

  • Three years of specific experience with business management and analysis
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience with in the areas of business and analysis related fields
  • Experience with Access, SharePoint and other similar business analyst software and applications
