Job description

Job Title: Business Analyst - Project Lead
Location: Columbia, SC 
Duration: 1 Year from project start date
Interview Type: Virtual

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with a focus on financial operations within Child Support systems. The Business Analyst will work closely with the State Functional Manager to enhance the application by improving workflows, designing user-friendly features, and ensuring optimal functionality for financial activities. The role requires an individual who can work independently with minimal guidance and contribute to system enhancement and process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the State Functional Manager and provide status updates on tasks and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to identify improvement opportunities within and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Analyze current workflows, uncover inefficiencies, and design optimized workflows for complex financial processes.
  • Propose enhancements for financial activities in , including receipts, distributions, disbursements, recoupment, and reconciliation.
  • Design user-friendly features such as step-by-step wizards, tooltips, and automated guidance to improve system usability.
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to understand business needs and gain insights into processes.
  • Develop test scenarios and cases with other analysts and assist during testing activities.
  • Participate in functional meetings to address issues, enhancements, and bug triage.
  • Ensure alignment of business requirements with technical solutions and prioritize deliverables.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • 5+ years of experience with Child Support systems.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial operations (receipts, distribution, disbursements, recoupment, reconciliation).
  • 5+ years of experience with workflow design and system enhancements.
  • 5+ years of experience conducting stakeholder interviews and gathering business requirements.
  • 5+ years of experience with SQL querying.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any field (Preference for Finance or IT).

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
  • Preference for a degree in Finance or IT.

Education:

  • BS Degree (Preference for Finance or IT).
