Job description

Job TitleSeniorBusiness Analyst

Contract - Boston metropolitan (Hybrid) Ideally 

Data Experience is must,

Pharmaceuticals experience required

AI/ML experience preferred.

Purpose of the Position:

  • Participate in Requirement Gathering, Manage the process of turning these requirements into desired outputs
  • Coordinating the work of business, IT, and external teams to deliver the required results
  • Perform Feasibility and Impact Assessment
  • Documentation Review, ensuring that work produced by the teams conform to methods, designs, and standards so that economies of scale can be achieved during the support phase.
  • Be a party to all Stakeholder Communication
  • Perform and review Primary and Secondary Research based on solution and project needs
  • Support new solution design and other organizational initiatives
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment, collaborate with all stakeholders and work toward consensus building while working on various data and analytics projects

Key Result Areas and Activities:

  • Requirements & Design:
  • Help development team with structure & usability of dashboards (e.g. user friendliness, clear definitions)
  • Help with specific drill-downs / dashboard functionality (optimize for user experience)
  • Develop wire-frames and mock-ups based on new user requirements
  • Help facilitate design sessions with field champion team to develop requirements
  • Translate business requirements into high level functional requirements (user stories)
  • Define acceptance criteria for each user story and ensure all intake requirements are met
  • Work with business stakeholders to prioritize backlog enhancements based on business value, effort and need by date.
  • Facilitate requirement refinement sessions with data architects, reporting team, SME, and data owners.

KPI Definitions and Business Rules

  • Maintain field KPI definitions and test for accuracy via pulls from Snowflake
  • Document field KPI definitions and related business rules (functional design documentation)
  • Document data sources for KPI metrics and ensure consistency of data sources used in metrics across all dashboards.
  • Pressure-test data sources to ensure we are setting things up the right way and drawing from the right data sources
  • Work closely with the data architects and reporting team to ensure consistency of metrics across dashboards
  • Testing & Roll-Out
  • Facilitate structured UAT of dashboard with home office and field users
  • Document and prioritize UAT feedback
  • Assist with training materials for field teams for new dashboard roll-outs (e.g. step-by-step guides in PPT)
  • Answer questions as they arise through the Field Support Desk

Work and Technical Experience:

  • Strong functional knowledge and experience in sales performance and field metrics, data and analytics
  • Bio-pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience
  • Pharma Commercials experience
  • Ability to collaborate with business product owners and users to understand data and analytics requirements for Commercial business areas
  • Strong understanding of agile methodology and ability to convert business requirements into implementation ready Epics and user stories
  • Hands on knowledge with data querying, data analysis, data mining, reporting and analytics will be a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willing to work in US EST time zone (half day or more overlap will be preferred)
  • Tools: Power BI, Snowflake, Oracle DB, SQL, Microsoft office suite

Must To Have

  • Strong functional knowledge and experience in sales performance and field metrics, data and analytics
  • Biopharmaceutical or biotechnology experience
  • Pharma Commercials experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret business requirements and convert them into functional specifications
  • Able to manage own workload with minimal direction
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills and ability to clearly and succinctly express ideas

Good To Have

  • Experience with Business and data analysis in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech Industry.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
  • Demonstrated continued learning through one or more technical certifications or related methods
  • 9-11 years of experience as Business Analyst
