What is a business account executive?

A business account executive is responsible for the sale of products and services to other companies. As a business account executive, your job duties include developing strong relationships with business clients, establishing sales goals for each business account, and implementing sales strategies to reach those goals. Typical qualifications for the career include a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field and prior sales experience. You must also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as well as advanced knowledge of company offerings.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a business account executive, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Business Account Executive, you need strong sales acumen, a deep understanding of client relationship management, and typically a bachelor's degree in business or a related field. Familiarity with CRM software like Salesforce, sales analytics tools, and sometimes industry-specific certifications are commonly required. Outstanding communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills set top performers apart in this role. These competencies are crucial for building lasting client partnerships and consistently meeting or exceeding revenue targets.

How does a business account executive typically collaborate with other departments to achieve sales goals?

Business Account Executives frequently work alongside marketing, customer support, and product teams to understand client needs and deliver tailored solutions. They often participate in strategy meetings, communicate client feedback to improve offerings, and coordinate with support teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing satisfaction. This cross-functional collaboration is essential for meeting sales targets and nurturing long-term business relationships.

Job description

Job Overview
Are you a high-performing outside sales professional who thrives on building relationships, being in the field, and closing business face-to-face? If you're energized by growth goals, real estate relationships, and owning a territory, this could be the role for you.
Residential Inspector of America (RIA) is hiring an Account Executive to drive new business and expand our referral network across Metro Atlanta, GA. This is a field-based sales role focused on prospecting, relationship-building, and revenue growth in the Atlanta real estate market.
Our mission is simple and meaningful: to create lifelong relationships by simplifying home ownership. Our Account Executives are trusted advisors who help real estate professionals deliver a smooth, confident experience to their buyers and sellers.
What You'll Be Doing Every Day
  • Own and grow a sales territory in Metro Atlanta, GA
  • Prospect new business through cold calling, warm outreach, office visits, networking events, and social selling
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with real estate agents, brokers, and industry partners
  • Manage a healthy sales pipeline and consistently drive year-over-year revenue growth
  • Conduct in-person presentations and consultations at real estate offices and events
  • Serve as a trusted resource by recommending the right home inspection solutions
  • Represent Residential Inspector of America (RIA) at real estate events, trade shows, and networking functions
  • Partner with marketing on campaigns, events, and local brand awareness initiatives
  • Track activity, leads, and referral partners accurately in the CRM
  • Stay up to date on local real estate trends, market activity, and industry best practices

This Role Is a Great Fit If You...
  • Love outside sales and being out in the community, not behind a desk
  • Are motivated by goals, growth, and performance-based success
  • Enjoy building real relationships that turn into long-term partnerships
  • Are confident prospecting and opening doors
  • Take pride in follow-through, organization, and professionalism
  • Want to represent a respected local brand with strong market presence

What We're Looking For
  • Proven success in sales, business development, or account management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and growing accounts
  • A consultative, customer-focused sales approach
  • High energy, self-motivation, and accountability
  • Comfort using CRM systems, email, phone, and social platforms to manage leads

Requirements
Minimum
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (territory-based role)

Preferred
  • Background in real estate, home inspections, mortgage, title, or related services
  • Bachelor's degree

Why RIA Home Inspections?
  • Established, respected brand in Atlanta, GA
  • Strong leadership and support
  • Clear growth goals and opportunity to make an impact
  • A role where relationships matter and results are recognized

If you're looking for an Account Executive role in Atlanta, GA where you can build relationships, grow a territory, and see the direct results of your work, we'd love to hear from you.
